Are you all excited for the barn-burner that will be the Red Wings and Panthers? The two worst teams in the East, and Detroit still looking for their first win on the season.
Yeah, I might skip that one as well. If the Panthers are the team to give the Wings their first win, it would be a bad sign for the season, even though it's early.

Is the main reason goaltending woes for the Panthers?

Wow. He is on the last year of his deal so wonder what happens with him?
It’s crazy that after 12, 15 and 15 goals with Florida over 3 straight seasons, he hasn’t scored more than 6 in any season afterwards.

Mostly that, but team defense has been weak as well

That was never really his game. He can just skate really well and took advantage of playing on a garbage team.
He was always a great puck mover though.

The Panthers had 93 points in Bouwmeester's last season with them. They certainly weren't garbage.
Seems like a lot of players had success in Florida though that never followed them to other teams.
Bouwmeester. Jokinen. Booth. Weiss.

They had the benefit of playing top line minutes and playing in the weakest division at the time. The only competition in the SE was the Capitals.

Two big hits in the offensive zone, then drops the gloves and answers the challenge from Johnson. Classic Ferly shift

I don't know about never his game. He did it for three straight years in Florida, jumping into the play. He was scoring goals from right in front of the net. Then he stopped doing that and although clearly has had a successful career, his NHL play has not lived up to his initial promise.

Landeskog on fire to start the year. 2017/17 looks like a distant memory for him, and that team.

Didn't do what? 527 hits the last 3 years in Calgary. 13 fights too, including beating up Borowiecki and Rinaldo after they threw dirty hits against Lazar and Stajan last year.
