I think the biggest thing people are disappointed about with Ryan is that he hasn't added anything to the PP and has still played considerable minutes with the man advantage.
for me its still a wariness after GG overplaying terrible players in the wrong roles, and probably is much ado about nothing hopefully
I thinks he's paid just about right for a third line center. Take a look at the stronger teams. Their third line centers are 40ish point guys, play on PP2, above 50% face off percentage and are paid in and around 3 Mil. That's exactly who Ryan is.

I personally don't hate Ryan, i'm still on the fence, just wary because he really hasn't done much so far.
I hope he plays well and that we get good value on his contract.
I was mostly just giving what I think the common reasons for Ryan hate are.
