Greta’s age is irrelevant; she has stepped up to the adult world and challenged us all to heed her voice. Unfortunately she is preaching to the choir.
Let us hope the choir responds in an even more adult manner.

Calgary Puck is such a liberal forum. I sometimes wonder if the Calgary Puck server room is in Kent Hehr’s office. Would be nice to know.

Maybe just stop perusing the internet and enjoy the weather and outdoors this weekend. You seem stressed.

Imagine how far right you'd have to be to believe this is a true statement.

And that makes her comparable to Hitler? You've lost the plot.

At the risk of this going further off the rails: Is age in this case relevant or irrelevant? Attack the message, not the messenger but in this case, is it fair to say the only reason we know of her is her age? Would she have the same celebrity if she were a 44 year old? I am just not sure how her message is particularly new or novel that would provide her with this kind of notoriety or access..

The counterprotesters are going to make Alberta seem like a bunch of back woods hicks. Hopefully they don't end up convincing undecided federal voters not to vote Conservative.

I'm still waiting for anyone to attack the IPCC Reports she defers to, the report she brought up when in front of the U.S. Congress, and continues to bring up . Everyone is focused on a meddling 16-year old teenager and throwing every insult in the book at her. It really is a case of attacking the messenger and a complete misunderstanding of why she is a galvanizing force.

This is what people like stampsx2 don't seem to understand. This is a PR war that Alberta is losing and it only looks worse to uinformed/undecided voters and the international audience when clowns like United We Roll and The Rebel pull their garbage.

Sure but protest or no protest, this was going to be angled by Greta and her team to make Alberta look bad.
She's not here for discussion or to get educated on what Alberta is doing environmentally.

Maybe, maybe not. But there's a good way to handle it and a bad way to handle it.

What we need to do is buy a social licence.

Is there a single anti-pipeline person on this site?
I don’t think we have ever found any. There are people uninformed about the benefits of pipelines but I don’t think anyone once understanding the issue remains anti-pipeline.
If anything this site is fiscally conservative socially liberal that puts economic success as it’s primary value.

I don't disagree.
But I don't see a point in having leaders meeting with her, she's there to lecture and get video clips. So that makes no sense. Its not like she's going to say, thanks for doing this. Any footage of a tour for example that shows positive strides environmentally will probably never be published. They're here to look for and promote the worst, they're not here for fair and balanced.
Second of all the manifesto for these climate strikes is sheer lunacy. I don't disagree with the report at all. I disagree with the the end goal game here.
third its a sign of a functioning democracy and a right to free speech that we have two groups here. As long as neither side acts like idiots then I'm cool with it.
