Big Z to Eric Francis "do you even watch hockey?"

I have been asking myself the same question for years. Love it.

Flames players should all give Eric Francis this answer every time he asks a question, any question.

For me his contract was earned in that interview.

Not a big fan of most of Bradley's body of work this summer

However I'm a big fan of these two signings, not going to lie.

For most of the season I've been adamant that he wasn't worth the cap hit, but lately he's been winning me over. He's really picked up his play lately and it's great to see!

I've been one of Zadorov's harshest critics since the day he was acquired.

He's been very good of late. Love to see it.

Love the hits he's been laying out. Definitely improved from the beginning of the season.

Nice, large piece on the back end.

Fun to watch, great skater for a guy his size. Pretty dependable, although he's still good for one or two egregious giveaways a game.

If anyone still thinks that this was a bad signing, needs to forever give up their Flames jersey.

He is EXACTLY the type of d-man we have been missing for the past 5 years!!!!

I may have been wrong about Kylington but I was right about Zadorov

Zadorov is still the occasional adventure with the puck, but he’s definitely playing much better lately, and is using his body the way he needs to. Still wouldn’t want to pay him anywhere near his QO though so I suspect he's gone regardless.

He has his moments but I think fans have to realize that Darryl has really sheltered the 3rd pairing. The Athletic just put out an article yesterday about what defensemen get the most elite matchups and which ones are the most sheltered and Gudbranson (20% Elite TOI%) and Zadorov (21.3%) are both amongst the most sheltered defensemen in the league. For the money he's making the Flames should probably move on from Zadorov in the offseason.

Freight train type hit, having this kind of muscle throughout the lineup is only going to prove valuable as the season wears on!

That pairing of Gudbranson and Zadorov help to nicely round out our defense. I get that they might be getting sheltered minutes, but what they bring to the ice during those minutes, is something we lacked from the back end.

Like literally on that hit last night in the slow motion replay, you can see where Kase's soul temporarily leaves his body.

But he's not making that money past this season, and I don't see him getting a raise

I love me some Valimaki but big Z is winning me over. Just a one year player though. Probably gone next year.

Aside from these two signings, what was wrong with the off season? Coleman? Vladar? The draft?
