How does one even go about assigning a probability to this? Especially since 30/31 teams is a maximum of 96.7%?

Especially when it’s the Ducks for way less than we would have been comfortable offering.

For comparison Cole Caufield was the runaway winner this year for the Hobey Baker with 52 points. Eichels had 71
Gaudreau and Eichel are 2 of the best NCAA players of all time, I want both of them

And Eichel completely #### the bed against a much inferior Providence team, doing nothing in the final game to be a difference maker. There is a pattern with Jack, and its not a great one. Eichel is not a big game player. He likes to consider himself a big game player, but he rarely shows up when it matters. I guess that would make him the perfect linemate for Matthew Tkachuk. All talk, but no game when the chips are down. Be careful what you ask for. You may not like the outcome.

You're just weirdly biased.
Did you know that the Tampa Bay Lightning were an absolute disaster from Stamkos' rookie season (08/09) all the way through 2012/2013? That's 5 years of being a disastrous organization. You know how they got good? Their organization drafted other amazing players and were managed by an excellent GM. Players do not succeed individually.
Did you know that Steve Yzerman took 14 years to win a Stanley Cup?
Did you know that Joe Sakic missed the playoffs for the first four seasons of his career, and then didn't actually win a playoff series until his 8th season in the league? Or how about that he didn't win any series in his three season in the WHL?
Did you know that Jarome Iginla didn't win a playoff series until his 8th NHL season?
Is Joe Sakic a big game player? Is Steve Yzerman?

You win by adding elite talent.
Eichel is an elite talent at a very important position.

I don't think Calgary or the Flames were mentioned in said tweet either but it did specify MST for some reason.

Eichel is damaged goods that the Sabres are selling as new in box. Also I'm concerned about his attitude/commitment. Say we trade for him and he decides he doesn't like Calgary and floats and pouts and tries to force a trade. If he was fully healthy with no medical concerns or baggage I would say do it. But too risky under current circumstances Imo...

I think with guys like Hanifin and Johnny on the flames that becomes much less of a worry for me; add to that the reason he’s disgruntled in Buffalo is because of the lack of success and general direction and the fact that he desires to win and I think it’s the perfect fit for Calgary with the coach we just brought in. The roster we could potentially be running with Eichel in the fold is markedly different than what he had back in 04 and it’s insanely compelling to think of the possibilities!! Make it happen Treliving it’s about time I’d say!
