So as someone who can't commit to watching Saturday football, who can fill me in on Fields? I'd like to be excites but the track record of QBs in Chicago doesn't bode well.

Positives?
Negatives?

Cam Newton with way better ball placement. I think he's going to be really good but may need a year.

Washington, Steelers, Saints, Bucs all seem possible for Jones if he slides past the Patriots.

Trade compensation: Vikings sent No. 14 and No. 143 (round 4) to Jets for No. 23, No. 66 (Round 3) and No. 86 (Round 3). Minnesota still doesn't have a second but now has four third-round picks.

from what I've seen, he's a great mobile QB with some good deep touch.

Big issue with OSU qb's is how well can they really read defenses; Meyer and Day run a lot of spread looks (not read options anymore, though they do run situationally).

I hate to say, in some ways, he reminds me of Trubisky...very good athlete that flashes at times...but is he going to be consistent at the NFL level, where your windows are a lot smaller and you don't have the ability to out recruit your opponents.

Jones seems to be the perfect QB for the Pats. Very accurate at the college level and a guy that plays within the system...but does that accuracy carry over to the NFL where you don't have Waddle, Smith, Ruggs and Jeudy and Metchie to throw too?

For positives, read this article.

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/fu...-justin-fields

For negatives, you know the Bears history so just think of that. I think we both have a low opinion of Nagy as a coach too, and it's always better to gave a QB with a coach who isn't in jeopardy of being fired in one year.

i'm a big Michigan fan (which is now a basketball school) but Kwity Paye's story (more accurately, his Mom's story) is truly amazing

long form here:
https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2021/s...ect-kwity-paye

worth checking up if you like stories with lots of onions...

Hope he kicks ass in Indianapolis
