I think that building is where the Foot Soldiers take opposing team supporters (when they're brave enough to show their ghoulish faces at ATCO Field), tie them up, and force them watch Cavalry propaganda until their eyes bleed. Then they never return to our sacred turf.

It's where we make visiting supporters watch nothing but Escalante cam all game long.

Wish I had a private reception lounge, but no. It's a storage warehouse.

Many of the CPL supporters groups have launched a joint Prideraiser campaign that will take place during the Winnipeg bubble. The Foot Soldiers did this in 2019, and are doing it again in 2021 in support of YYC Outlink. IIRC we raised around $3000 for Outlink in 2019, thanks to the 8-0 pummeling of Valour on Labour Day.

We're already up to $28 per goal an hour in. Not bad!

Here's the link to the Foot Soldiers Prideraiser campaign. https://www.prideraiser.org/campaign...WejoRQEobqRJA/

Sounds like Mason is flying into Winnipeg on Sunday and will join the team after quarantine.

Selemani Novak

Camargo DiChaira Luca Ledgerwood

Field Trafford Klomp Farsi

Carducci

Playoff format was announced. 4 team playoff with single legs. I hate a single leg playoff that rewards mediocrity.

^ Agreed. Would a home-and-home have been so difficult/expensive, especially for the playoffs?

I feel that they've overlooked the excitement and revenue of giving those 3rd and 4th placed teams a home leg. And despite having to watch Forge celebrate before my eyes in 2019, there is no way to argue that Cavalry were the better team over two legs. I feel better about it than if Forge had been gifted a call in a single-leg playoff.

Still better than the spring/fall gong show of the inaugural season, I guess, but they were sooo close to getting it right.

Wouldn't playoff games drive enough gate revenue that having 2 legs would be better for the clubs financially? This is totally puzzling.

Is it maybe just a time constraint as to why it’s only one leg? Is it a neutral site final?

Neutral site final (Winnipeg maybe, as a bone for hosting the bubble), but all attempts will be made to get Forge in there again to the Final so Wheeler can start whispering dynasty in his horrific commentating, and if so, the neutral site will be Hamilton .

My guess is maybe OneSoccer on't want to be stretched?

Or they are building some schedule flexibility in case there is a Covid issue along the way and need the extra week.

And or maybe this year they'll divide the pie evenly amongst all playoff teams or all league teams, for playoff revenue.

It's great that they back but this l, as mentioned a while ago, sets the league back financially by a few years from where they wanted, so have to proceed with resource allocation carefully.

Watch party for Sunday's game confirmed by the club. Think they have most of if not the whole place booked.

Let’s go!
This is our redemption after all the injuries last year.

Can’t wait until we’re back at Spruce Meadows

Edmonton and Ottawa finished in the last two places during the Island Games.

I have seen nothing so far during the first game that makes me think this season will be anything different.

It's always great to see Edmonton lose. They are improved over last year but it's the same story, no one to put the ball in the net. Ottawa looked stronger as the game went on. I really like their squad, think they'll make the playoffs to be honest.

Are they going to allow any fans in the opening Winnipeg games? They allowed fans for the last Jets games so I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to have some fans in outdoor stadium as well.

It's finally here. Let's put 4 or 5 past York. Make Zats regret that move.
