They could probably do with 4 preseason games. A couple ice some kids, a couple to ice your team.

Perhaps half the dates but do double headers. One rookie and extras game. One regular roster game.

I’d rather see the 8 or whatever games and listen to everybody bitch

Meaningless games are more interesting than practices

Lots of the Oilers have been skating together for about a month now. Also, Broberg-Berglund used to be a pairing in Sweden, Bouchard-Koekoek were a pairing last season, and the Benson line played together all last year in the AHL. That probably explains the chemistry difference.

That Vladar reverse double pad stack was pretty awesome. Don't think I've ever seen that before.

Replace with regular season games would be the way they’d do it. Add 4 regular season games and ditch all of the exhibition games.

Preseason games are neither as good nor as bad as people think they are. They mean very little once the season starts.

Exhibition games are really important to the prospects that are close to making the NHL.

Right now there likely is an attitude/reality adjustment done by Pelletier. What he thought was good preparation was not enough. It would have been great to get Zary into some exhibition games.

There is an opportunity for someone like Monahan to show that he was NHL ready in the exhibition series and not worth his development for another year of junior.

It appears the cap management in general leaves most team's opening day roster really set with injuries the only opportunity for a prospect to push his way onto the roster.

That's certainly the case if you keep taking in scrubs and filling all the roster spots before preseason even starts. Although it would appear that Calgary has virtually nobody on the farm team even close to stepping up.
