For the record, the Flames changed their stance and are allowing tipping at the concessions stands. Apparently there was a concern that the workers at concessions might find other employment if tips were not part of their equation. Don't care the reason, but good on them making the change.
Does that mean instead of tap and go, it's now tap and "why didn't it go through? Oh, total, 'Y or N'? Yes. Tip '$ or %'? Um... percentage. 'Amount?' 0. 'Confirm total?' Yes." Now, tap and go?
I hate those.

Was always weird that people tipped the bar concessions but never the popcorn kid? Does the popcorn kid get the tip prompt now or just the bar concessions?

The price of beer dramatically effects my Tip for them. When the total for 2 beers was a $ or 2 below a round bill (9$ beers for example) the vendor gets the extra $2.
When the prices raised to $9.50, the vendor got $1.
Tap will make it more annoying with all the button pushing for sure.

Plenty, thanks. But I imagine if we only posted agreeable content this forum would be a whole lot of “+1” and where’s the fun in that.
Also, the only acceptable way to purchase things from a vendor at an event is with cash that is rounded up, and the cashier keeps the change as the tip. It’s quick, it’s efficient, no fussing around with change.
Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

I just decided to look at my scenario at our Brewery.
We pay 25 cents per debit transaction and 2.9% per cc transaction. I have to carry a float of several hundred dollars for the purposes of cash transactions. Last week, of our sales, we did about 8% of our transactions in Cash.
Now, I have an employee that needs to count the cash before and after every shift and I have to go to the bank and deposit it, and manage it. Cash is a time sink for us.
After reading through this thread. I am debating if cash is actually reasonable to deal with or if we'd be better going cashless and just e-transferring tips etc.

Not that I'm condoning breaking the law but if you do $1 million that's $80,000 cash that may or not make it into the bank account. Isn't that what restaurant/bar owners are looking for? Or is that old school way of doing it?
I noticed on the plans for the new arena, there were a few spots marked as "Grab & Go". I wonder if that's what the plan for those is? That technology should be in Canada in 3 years.

So far this season, after a couple pre-season games and the Home Opener, the cashless Saddledome has worked just fine. I would say the lines move faster.
The new crappy nacho trays, on the other hand, are complete garbage and completely negate the value that the nachos had.

Small, large or both? I need to know before attending my first game.
