While this is most certainly true, I wouldn't want to see an end to international best on best tournaments unless the other countries are willing to sign off on a document stating you all give up and acknowledge Canada is the best and you can't beat us.

Until that happens, I'd still like to see a best on best tournament at least every four years where we exert our dominance.

I think you'll find that the American women are favoured to win most tournaments and the Canadians manage to upset them at the Olympics.

When "the favourites" are "upset" four times in a row by two different teams (once by Swedes, three times by Canada), probably they shouldn't have been considered favourites

In any case the results are what they are. It's not like womens hockey is that competitive either.

When you win 7 of the past 8 world championships you are the favourite.

American women have won the worlds 4 times in a row and as Craigwd says 7 of the last 8.
