Toddlers...no. I have a toddler. Navigating her through the Vegas crowds gives me anxiety just thinking about it.
For slightly older kids though, Vegas would be great. Lots of novelty stores and food everywhere. Once kids get a bit older Vegas becomes like an amusement park but also with giant kid orientated stores. They'd also likely be blown away by something like a helicopter ride.
Toddlers though...no way. My kid is especially "energetic", but zero chance she'd sit still in a stroller for long stroller rides in the vegas heat.

Even Vegas gave up their short lived 'Vegas is family friendly, bring your kids' advertising experiment.
Its not for kids.
Taking them for their 21st birthday though, thats acceptable.

I brought my boys when they were 7 and 5, fifteen years ago. They loved it. Pool at the Luxor. Aquarium at Mandalay. Medieval show at Excalibur. Rides at NY NY and Circus Circus.

Probably could find things to do but it would be so far down the list of places to take kids IMO. I wouldn't consider it because there's dozens, even hundreds of better choices.

Also, kids would love some of the cheesier shows like the Blue Man Group, Jabowakis, or even the more family friendly Cirque shows. The Sphere would also likely blow their minds. I haven't been myself, yet, but I'd imagine their "Postcards from Earth" show is like an Imax show on steroids.
Toddlers though, once again no. Even thinking about it is giving me PTSD flashbacks from the plane ride home from Mexico a few months ago.

Only way I'd take my kids to Vegas is if it was a pit stop on the way to Grand Canyon, Monument Valley etc. Otherwise I just don't really see the point.

Yeah my son was something like 6 or 7 when we went. It was fine, there's lots of stuff to do and that much walking will wear them out.
But as said there's so many other places to go with kids Vegas wouldn't be high on my family vacation list, but if it's something where the parents want to see something specific then it can serve in a pinch imo.

Dude, take them to Disneyland if you're going to the trouble of hopping on a plane and heading to the States. It's the no-brainer option and the kids will have way more fun.

Thread title should be changed to "Thoughts on taking kids to grandmas before trip to Vegas, then laughing our ass off all the way to airport"

in elementary we'd spend a night or two there on the drive down to cali.
I loved some of the theme hotels as a kid, and loved the pirate show they had at Treasure Island at the time. M&M and Coke World etc.
A little awkward when the card flippers would give a kid a stripper card though.

We were there last week. Yes, it is. Completely 3D (4D with sound) without glasses and the picture quality is likely in the 8K range. Show itself would make Leonardo DiCaprio say "don't we think that was a little too preachy" with regards to climate change.
However the AI androids in the lobby are really cool.

Yeah I wouldn't. There just isn't anything there really geared towards kids.
It's called Sin City for a reason lol.
Disneyland is the way to go if you wanna take them to the States. Took my boy to both Disneyland and Disneyworld. He was maybe 4 the first time and had the time of his life. He was about 12 the 2nd time and again had the time of his life.

Great idea. Vegas is extremely family friendly and there will be no shortage of establishments anxious to have you and your toddlers invade everyone’s space. If that doesn’t work a lot of hotel rooms lock from the outside so you can child proof the room and leave them in there. A mini bar isn’t just a bar it also has snacks.
Next question: is it ok to have a bachelor party at Chuck E Cheese? It’s just gonna be me and ten of my rowdiest friends. Do a little coke, get hammered, play Time Crisis. That’s cool right? It’s an environment built for that?

A friend of mine did a Vegas trip with their 8 year old, they basically had to pay for an extra seat on the plane and an extra hotel room for the grumpy, miserable Grandma to babysit so they could go out and actually do anything fun.
Sounded miserable to me, take the kid to Disneyland.

To all those suggesting Disneyland instead of Vegas, in this particular case, his kids are still toddlers... Disneyland isn't much better of an idea at that point.
