Default Reid Boucher plea deals on sexual assault allegation

https://www.google.com/amp/s/ca.spor...021631438.html

Former NHLer Reid Boucher has pled down to a lesser charge to avoid jail time. As a 17 yr old he forced the 12 year old daughter of his billets to perform oral sex on him multiple times. His victim is disgusted by the plea deal.

USA Hockey was informed of the allegation at the time and removed him and put him with a different billet family.

This is another brutal story for hockey. Almost certainly another coverup for an entitled hockey player who felt he could do whatever he wanted.

Usa was informed of the allegation but no charges or accusations were made. This sounds like her parents didnt believer her....so weird that USA hockey was informed but not the police...like wtf.

USA hockey needs to face serious consequences for this. They probably aren't alone in this but you a family volunteers to house one of your players. He sexually assaults a 12 year old and they sweep it under the carpet. Just awful.

Just another reason my give-a-#### level for the NHL is at an all time low. I'm beginning to hate this sport

Doesn’t look good, and scary to think this is a very small % of misconduct that was swept under the rug coming out….
Disgusting, shouldn’t be able to “plea deal” down to basically no charges for something like this.

Although the guy is a hockey player, this has nothing to do with hockey or the NHL. This guys is scum and deserves jail time. This crap happens everywhere unfortunately. It’s not just an NHL thing. Hope he get what he deserves one way or another.

Really, you should just hate society. This kind of crap is not limited to one sport, business, religion, country or region.

Ha so this is all hockey’s fault.

The fact that it was a junior hockey player in a billet situation is what made it newsworthy.

Am sure this has never happened when a 17 year old dude spent the summer with his third cousins.

The structures that should have protected her instead protected the perpetrator so yes this Hockey USA’s and the greater Hockey cultures fault.

This is the church moving around priests.

Everyone blaming hockey USA, but the linked article quotes the victim saying she took ten years to come forward. Also any decent parents would contact the police not a sports club. As others have said its a society problem, i would guess that somewere between 80% and 99.99999% of women are sexually assaulted in their life.
