Icu isnt at capacity despite having more beds cut. Amazing with our low population density and high vax rates that we are more restricted in Canada now than the USA...or China lol. Guess our "free" healthcare system isn't so great after all.
By the strict wording of it, it is legal to buy and consume food/drink on the concourse during the game, but not during intermissions.
I'm visualizing a Simpson's-esque scenario at Moe's Tavern where the atmosphere is lively and the drinks are flowing during the game, but as soon as the intermission hits, all of the kiosks close and everything grinds to a halt:
I called the Flames this morning and was told the restaurants are open pregame, but will close once the game starts.
The farcical status this whole thing has now reached in terms of what is and isn't restricted continues. So Covid is taking a break until puck drop and/or it's only a concern for regulation while the game is being played ?

I received an email to fill out a form to potential release my tickets from the game.
This is nothing but a punishment for STH. They should let everyone who doesn’t want to go not go and if that is more than 50% then sell tickets to reach capacity. Forcing STH to keep/use their tickets is straight up punishing the fans that spend the most money with with team.

Yeah…especially if you are a STH intent not to go. You find out that your ticket is valid at the 11th hour and then you have to sell the ticket. I don’t have a sense as to whether the tickets will be easy to sell or hard to sell given 50% capacity.

I don't know, I'd say that's a pretty harsh assessment on the efforts being made. The NHL and the Flames (for their benefit and the fans) are clearly doing their best re-schedule as many of these games as possible under circumstances outside of their control.
The fact that there is potentially no perfect solution for these games that are going a head at 50% isn't a "slap in the face". I'm sure execution could be better as well, but there's not pre determined playbook for this either. They are trying to accommodate as many as possible, but to suggest the Flames should just eat it if no one wants to attend this game is a tough stance. Besides, we'll end up paying for it next year if we want them to take that stance, they'll just need to raise ticket prices up more to cover any COVID losses they undertake this year anyways. One way or another there is no way to avoid the impacts.

There are plenty of better ways they could handle this.
I suggest 2 things
1. No fans until restrictions are lifted
2. Opt out for STH and for then understand how many tickets they can sell then sell the remaining seats
3. Let the people that want to go attend the games
Here we are 2 nights before the game and we don’t k one if our tickets are valid or not. I can’t sell my tickets and I can’t attend that game so I guess I just take the $200 hit?
They will raise prices either way. Keeping 50% revenue for these few games isn’t going to avoid that. How they handle this situation will absolutely impact renewals next year.
