Panthers Prepare for Round 2!
In less than spectacular fashion, the Florida Panthers barely squeaked by the pesky Tampa Bay Lightning to move onto round two in the 2006-07 Stanley Cup playoffs. After going down 2-0 in the series, Mr. Dick Tarntrom kick started the team and got them back in it. Finally putting the lightning to rest in game 7, Penney realizes he will need a much better effort if his panthers are to sweep the Atlanta Thrashers.
"We will sweep the Thrashers and we feel our brand new, 2008 model lines will be able to dominate the Thrashers and destroy them" said Penney. "We will crush them".
With some big big injuries coming in game 7 to leading scorer Doug Weight and young sniper Ilya kovalchuk, Penney is forced to do some juggling and is looking forward to it.
"This is a great opportunity to get guys like Nash and Stillman into the top 6" said Penney. Although Nash is a young kid, we believe he is finally ready to get some top 6 minutes here in Florida after being in the dog house since he got here."
It is unknown if and how long Weight and Kovalchuk will be out of the lineup but there is only one option for this series and it is...
