Damery reminds me a bit of Joan Cusack as the principal in School of Rock... in that she wants to be cool and she isn't; but is instead both competent and passionate... and that's cool too.

I assume the votes he gets would otherwise go to Farkas, so go Brad go!

Brad Field doesn't even live in Calgary. He lives in Priddis. Though I'm sure he has a condo or something to put on his application.

Well as I've learned being in Rempel's riding, voters don't care about that

I would have voted for her if she promised to stay out of the country more often.

Just don't call her voters lemmings or someone on here will stroke out!
Seriously though, what has Rempel ever done for Canada that was any good?? other than trigger Elizabeth May with the F-Word. Fart... lol

Conservative MP with Canadian taxpayer-funded salary spends time and money yelling at Canadian politicians from Oklahoma.
I still can't seem to reconcile this situation in my head. And she keeps getting paid.
Hopefully she's not taking cues from "Siesta Senator" Andrew Thompson.

Your job as an MP can't solely be 'to hate the Prime Minister'.

Did you forget the green text? I'd wager that for half of Alberta MPs that's the only thing they actually accomplish

It’s almost why I’d rather have any party than the opposition. But anyway, I digress… this should be about haying Chu or Farkas or whoever.

I haven't watched the mayoral debate but some of the comments are not surprising. Davison looks the part and sounds intelligent, whereas Farkas has been Farking for the past 3+ years now so he's got lots of practice at that.
And people might be surprised to see that Gondek has some fire in her; she wasn't afraid to go toe-to-toe with the Mayor on some issues, so it's not surprising to see her not back down when it comes to the UCP. That could help her or hurt her but it's not just a poltical act -- she seems very intelligent but is also no pushover.

I’ve seen a lot of people chastise Jyoti for her adversarial tone with the province. If anything, I don’t think she’s been vocal enough!
Getting better funding deals for Calgary/Edmonton NEEDS to be a huge priority for the next set of city Mayors, and is one issue that I truly don’t think that people realize or are talking about nearly enough.
I don’t understand how people can be so concerned about a potential 1-2% property tax hike, when they should instead be irate about how much money we send to the province and how little we get back.

I haven’t done any research as I was waiting till the fed election ended (except pootsman stopped by).
One thing I am hearing is voting for Gondek is basically voting for Nenshi again. I wonder if that thought process will hurt her.

When you're dealing with the UCP. They are never going to do what you want anyway, so you might as well show people what we're dealing with. Maybe Calgary voters will finally realize the UCP is not their friends, and vote for someone else the next time.

That shouldn't be the focus of our mayor though - getting as much out of the province for Calgary is more important.

Ya, it would be tragic to get another fantastic mayor who actually cares about our city and citizens. If only we had someone who's sole attribute is voting no on everything.

Farkas making some nonsensical statements about why he voted against the City’s vax passport plan. Somehow the province bungled everything up, but we shouldn’t do anything cause we’re just the city - also the poor children that can’t get a print out their passports to do… things.
