Not a shark on that mask...looks like a fish like a pike or a trout. You can kind of see it on the side as well.
I think it's actually pretty cool.

Pretty sure that is a fish, on the side view you can see a fish; seeing as he is from Minnesota, I'm thinking he might be an avid fisherman too.
For Backstroms mask, it is an obvious duplicate of this mask he had made for this season for the Wild

I see the fish now. It looked like a beat-up old 3/4 dead shark at a glance. That is a fish and the backstory makes some sense.

i like poulin's mask except for the 2 third jersey shoulder patch 'ghost' logos on the right side at the top - come on 'dave art'... rotate the logo just a bit clockwise so it says "FLAME" and not "LAMES"

It's nice, but the NA logo is ugly. So the artist did a good job of making a nice mask out of a crap logo.
