Bloomberg going full Republican in a Democratic debate, lies and attacks but none of the Trump stupid charisma. He's coming off as fake and weak. "Maybe they didn't like some of my jokes" lol.

That quote is going to haunt him the rest of this campaign. I winced when he said it.

It is not recommended to eat fish from the Bow River.

Lot of things are going to haunt Bloomberg... like the NDA scandal thing. His position that it's capitalism or communism and nothing in between. How does he not realize calling people, that are pissed at him paying less taxes than his secretary and are supposed to be picking him as a nominee, communist isn't the best idea? He keeps trying to attack and it keeps blowing up in his face.

Having a rich arrogant a-hole from New York on each party has given Bernie his perfect storm.

I liked one of Sanders lines. The US right now is "socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the poor"

Bloomberg deserved every bit of it. You have got to be seriously out of touch to be attacking other candidates for being millionaires when you are a freaking billionaire. Or saying "Young people support Sanders because they are dumb". Of course the others are going to be ganging up on him, easy target.

I'm a pragmatist. I know that it's not going to happen overnight, nor is it going to be pretty along the way, but anyone trying to consciously make that shift is okay with me.
Last I checked, Albertans wanted a big oil pipeline to stimulate their economy. What's the plan to move to renewables there?
|
You can call it altruistic in the same way I could call it grandstanding. This isnt the place to debate the merits of solar panels (which there are almost none), but China is a pretty gross place to live.
What's bad about a pipeline? Supplying natural gas to China to reduce their obscene number of coal generation plants is a bad thing to you?

If Canada doesn't supply the carbon energy it will come from somewhere else* and WE will buy it from them. How this simple fact escapes some is beyond my comprehension.
*and it will very likely be from a much less clean infrastructure

These are from pre-debate, but a consolidate view of the polls. Biden dropping like a rock, this debate won't help him. Will be interested to see when the post debate polls come out.

Watching that debate, it was pretty clear Warren won. I think it's too little too late to resurrect her campaign but she's taking Bloomberg down with her. I don't know how Bloomberg comes back from that, especially the "Maybe they didn't like my jokes" line.
Pete continues to get exposed as the lame, insincere platitude bot that he is.

I read on the Washington Post that Bloomberg has already spent 233 million on digital and TV.
the sheer amount of money he's spending is giving him the profile he has, especially when he's crafting the message.
He'll get exposed soon enough, as last night shows.

What gets me is the amount Bloomberg has spent might seem massive to you and me, but is absolutely nothing to him. $400 million in spend for Bloomberg is like spending $2-3k for a medium income earner... Like wtf.

He should have spent 400 mill on debate preparation.
Everyone seems to like Warren's performance but shes a one trick pony, she can only talk about the oppressed. Like employees should get a say in all employee decisions, student should hire the trustee board, etc...
