No, this was one of the worst goals of the series. Soft bad angle shot from the boards with very little screen that was easy to predict, and Elliott still manages to find a way to push the puck to the front of the goal. Just inexcusable.

Elliott didn't have to do anything to stop this goal, just stand there, let the puck hit him so it either sticks to his gear or drops in front of him, where Monahan was looking to pick it up and go the other way.

Instead he for some reason puts the puck to his right, right to the front of the net. The rest is bad luck, but it's bad luck created by bad goaltending.

I wonder if Elliott feels like he's not getting the support he needs, as he's been the victim of, what feels like, an absurd amount of goals tipped in by his own team. Maybe he's kind of mentally bailed on them.
Not defending him, but I would love to know what he's thinking when that seems to keep happening.

I get your sentiment, but the have to disagree on the 3m line. Backlund s shorty turned the tide last game. They've been fine.
And, they got the team to the playoffs in the first place.

Yeah I agree with this.

Pull Elliott after the second period and start Johnson.
with a 4-2 lead, no NHL coach would even dare thinking about pulling their starter. Don't think this is realistic.

Call a time out after the third goal and give the players a chance to rethink how they are playing.
Totally agree. Anaheim was buzzing, should have taken a break and try to slow the momentum.

Quote:
Sit Johnny in the third as he was doing nothing but creating turnovers and bad passes.
Contradictory to the first point but I agree, he looks sloppy and is playing with no confidence.

It's a wholly unique insult, one which, regardless of who it's used against and in what context, says only terrible things about the person using it.

Yeah... Kinda my point... #sarcasm. I actually liked your original post and tried to highlight it against what the team did last off-season. There is no way that this team is going to go out and find young, potential performers when there is a league full of Brouwers out there. And we can see the results

Just eating up all these tears why everyone got to be so salty.. Flames did this to themselves. Maybe if they won a couple games at the end of the year we could of had a better matchup..

Another beef with him is his reluctance of calling timeout. The team should tell him that it doesn't cost him anything to call a timeout and timeout cannot be banked for future game.

What was our record going into the 3rd with the lead this season? If I recall correctly, it was one of the best in the league. This is a routine win for the team during the entire season.

It's a matter of being mentally weak, and that extends to every player on the team. Hard to be optimistic at this point. I don't know how you rebound after a loss like this

I never said there was a grand conspiracy. I'm trying to ask you why you have this bizarre position yet you refuse to engage. Anyway no worries, but I think you're wrong. Goodnight.
