I can't believe this pathetic hitting team is only 3 games out of a wildcard spot.

That's remarkable.

Damn. Looks like they were close and maybe unfortunate on those Kirk and Vladdy drives at the end.

I am not a Jays fan, but what is the point of Vogelbach as a ballplayer? Like why was he signed? He is too out of shape to play every day, can't hit for average or power. The idea that you have to pinch hit for your DH is insane! How as a management team do you let this happen? You can plug in any idiot to hit .200, and they might be able to bring speed or defense. At least that would be valuable on a team so offensively starved as the Jays. Also how does someone that heavy have so little homeruns?

Just the most useless player in all of MLB.

Vogelbach actually has a career OPS of .745

He's just sucking ass this season like 75% of all the other Jays hitters

It's incredible

The Vogelbach thing is interesting. As soon as he and IKF were signed as a potential DH and starting 3B I knew this season was a show me season for the team. They’re too one dimensional. I guess IKF hasn’t been terrible offensively but still. They’re specialists through and through and there shouldn’t be daily specialists when so much of the lineup is particularly built around defence and specifically lacks offence. Just poor roster construction overall.

Vogelbach seems like the team mascot and clubhouse cheerleader and seems like a very particular hitter. Jays have had those guys before and MLB managers love guys like this, but in general Vogelbach just gets on base in his career, but as mentioned, not here, like everyone else…IKF has turned out to be an excellent signing allowing infield flexibility and ditching Biggio.

Issue here of course isn’t Vogelbach, sure the Jays rallied in the 9th, but 3 hits and 1 run to that point, again, 2 of them infield hits. There continues to be zero confidence that they can hit. Schneider and everyone else can talk blue in the face to the team or the media but the message isn’t getting through.

The Brewers had two starting pitchers with less than 8 starts in MLB, not some vets.

Reading this morning that an email has been sent out to Jays season ticket holders advising that the renewal deadline for next season has been moved up from Aug. 28 to July 22nd which is 8 days before the trade deadline.

What a nasty piece of work by the higher-ups. The organization truly needs an overhaul from the top down.

Hahaha

Just in case they decide to tear it down I guess. Get those renewals in before they trade Vlad/Bo/Gausman/etc

I have a feeling this next stretch of games is going to put a fork in the Jays and their season for the most part.

I really want these players to figure it out, so many underperforming guys. But if they can't I sure hope there is a mass sell off coming.

Certainly seems greasy on the surface, because they would understand the optics of doing so. However, I'd say because they know how bad this could look to bamboozle their arguably most loyal fanbase, I'd say it could be for financial planning purposes for Rogers if they're debating how much to allot to next years' Jays budget and want some level of commitment. I'll also go a step further and guess that they'll make deals before the deadline to indicate to season ticket holders they're in for a rebuild. I don't think it's nefarious as we may think.

Getting rid of the team cheerleader doesn’t seem to be having any effect, 1 hit through 5.
Wonder if it’s Schneider or Atkins making the decision on these last few roster moves.

Seems like nibbling around the edges.
