"Match day two" continues in groups C and D.
Japan only survives with a loss if Ivory Coast beats Colombia. Likewise, Greece needs to Columbia to beat Ivory Coast to survive a loss today. To survive with a draw, Japan needs Ivory Coast to win or draw. Greece needs Colombia to win or draw.
Colombia qualifies with a win if Greece wins or draws. Ivory Coast qualifies with a win if Japan wins or draws.
Similarly, England and Uruguay need Italy and Costa Rica, respectively, to run the table if they are to survive a loss today. They can't be eliminated today, but the loser could be eliminated tomorrow.
Don't quite understand the thinking. Reading a preview of Japan/Greece match - and it's suggesting both teams will be hoping for a draw between Columbia/Ivory Coast.
The only thing that makes sense to me, from a Greek perspective, is hoping for a Columbia win - which leaves qualifying completely in their hands.
I suppose a draw does the same, and still leaves them with a chance to win the group?
Had to look up this Serey Die guy after the announcer mentioned his suspension for slapping a ball boy. He's a bit of tool.
Also got called out for lack of scoring by the 55 yearold owner of the club he plays for. Challenged him to score at least 14 out of 20 penalties against him . . . he only managed 11.
The referee is literally 5 feet away...how can he not see that Drogba took a dive?? The refs are just as much to blame as the players for falling for that crap.
Man I'm worried about our pace on the back vs a team with arguably the best striker pair in the world.
Yeah, if you're going with that back four then at least throw on a wide mid who's going to track back like Milner. Luckily Uruguay's back four aren't any better.
