That is so true.
If it have three rules to making your kid go far:
- be big. Two level bump for sure.
- have a dad who played high level, WHL or higher.
- ignore your coach (especially on defence).
I really believe the third one. Go end to end every time. That’s why I hate this narrative of “trust the process”. Every player my kids have played with who are headed to the moon, their parents were giant pains in the hoop to the coach.
Hockey - Give us you money and STFU because I need someone to play in the same line as my kid because I topped out in Moose Jaw.

No points for Mews, and a -4 (!) in a 6-3 loss to the Soo. He is tied for 17th-overall in scoring, and is 2nd in scoring by D, with 57gp/14g/59a/73pts,-11, 68 PIM. Sam Dickinson is closing in fast, with 44gp/22g/47a/69pts,+47, 28 PIM. My boy Brady Martin was named second star for the Soo, with 2g, 1a, and a +3, for 49gp/29g/30a/59pts,+21, 62 PIM. I know plus/minus is a useless stat, but Martin's +21 on a team as bad as the Soo is nuts!! The next highest on the team is +3.
Hurtig is back for the Hitmen, and gets no points with a +1 (the Hurtig Special) in a 3-0 win over Speedy Creek. He is tied for 13th-overall in plus/minus, with 45gp/4g/9a/13pts,+34, 25 PIM.
Lipinski gets no points, and was -1 (11/26 in faceoffs) in a 4-3 loss to Spokane. 49gp/12g/35a/47pts,-3, 32 PIM.

It's not even surprising anymore when Parekh has 3+ points - on an absolute heater right now

Saginaw beats Sudbury, 7-2. Parekh had 4a, and was +1.
Am I Crazy or should he be at least +2 assuming he was on for the 2 goals against?
+4 for the assists -2 for goals against = +2 no?

No +\- is awarded on power play goals and each one of those assists were PP helpers, 2 primary and 2 secondary. His +1 likely came on the tik tak toe goal he started as well. Safe to say the Flames have their future PP QB but I think Parehk is going to be much, much bigger than a PP specialist. What an absolute boon for the Flames to have ZP fall to 9th. Beyond excited for next year!!

Lipinski back to a point per game and strong face offs is good to see. Wish his +/- was better but overall a big improvement from beginning of the year.
