5 women left in contention for the medals in pole vault. Newman needs to make a another height to get more than Bronze.

Not sure what is delaying the pole vault but sucks for the athletes.

Newman misses her first attempt at 4.85, but she's certainly capable of making that.

Love watching the elites play table tennis, it's so insane. Japan vs Sweden in the semis right now.

Austrailian makes it over, Newman must clear 4.85 to stay in contention for a medal.

If Moser can't make her 3rd jump, Newman will win a medal.
Czech athlete doesn't look like she can get over this height.

Yep. At least a medal for Newman. Currently bronze so she'll need to clear 4.90 to move up.

Makes sense. If she was going to be fourth if she cleared 4.85 there's no reason to try it again. Thanks, I'm watching the feed without commentary so I'm just guessing from the standings board

American passing at 4.90, because it makes no sense for her to try, she stays in silver whether she makes 4.90 or not.
EDIT: she's assuming Newman won't make 4.90.

Is the tie-break total number of attempts through the competition, or total number of attempts on previous height?
