I didn't even notice men's soccer yet. I assume the Canadian team didn't make it?

I don't even know how the teams were even selected. Only 16 teams chosen, and Guinea, Iraq, Uzbekistan, and Mali were among them. I assume there was some kind of "qualification", but those teams aren't close to the top of the pack.

The Olympic committee needs to rethink men's soccer. Find a way to make it more attractive to top players and club teams to allow their players to participate. Otherwise it's too watered down.

There’s no appetite for another international tournament after euro and Copa just finished. Not to mention the disruption it would cause to club teams.

I don’t see a solution that ever makes it more relevant.

I think the indoor cycling is always one of my favourite events in the summer olympics. Alongside swimming and track.

Totally. I prefer the race events the most in general I find, there's an adrenaline rush to it.

I struggle more with judged events, that whole Salé/Pelletier incident from 2002 really soured me on the process. I'm always suspecting shenanigans now haha. But the skills on display are still fun to watch.

And that’s why the do a U23 tournament of the men’s side.

Plus, it’s always only been 16 teams, and the 16 spots are not allotted by general strength of the regions either. It’s more evenly distributed around the world.

Our 3x3 girls have been in foul trouble every game I’ve watched them. In a tight one with Germany here

Ouch. Winning basket by Germany with 2 seconds left. That stings.

I always find it interesting that as Canada grows in some sports, they seem to regress in others. Like in cycling, triathlon, or water sports. I remember we used to be one of the best in the sport; now we seem like also rans.
