Kinda sad that swimming is already coming to an end. I think there are still the long distance free swims yet to come... what about the endurance swims?

I guess this is how all old people talk but is hard to believe it is 28 years since Donovan Bailey silenced the Atlanta crowd with a world record and gold medal in the 100.
Will always remember 'the face'.

Novak Djokovic wins the first set over Carlitos in a tie-beak. A pretty enthralling opening set of tennis worthy of a gold medal being on the line.

Novak gets that elusive gold medal to complete his CV. That was an outstanding tennis match.

I know very very little about cycling or had any interest in it in the past. I must say watching both the men and women’s road races has really peaked my interest. Really interesting to watch the different landscapes and get even a beginner understanding of the strategy involved.

Round 1 of the Women’s 400m Hurdles starts at 04:35, Savannah Sutherland is in Heat 2.
Result from earlier this morning but nice to see Savannah advance here, she's from Saskatchewan but was definitely a fixture at track meets in Alberta over the years. at 20 she was the youngest in her heat, and she finished 3rd (Savannah was the NCAA champ in 2023 and her heat was won by the 2024 NCAA champ) of course the 400 m Hurdles will be the Femke/Sydney show but let's see what Sutherland can do in the semis!

Crazy how everyone is running under 10 seconds now. What a competitive field. I wonder if Bolt's 9.58/s is in jeopardy today, given the perfect track conditions.

Haha I love the Jamaican sprinter looking at Lyles as he won the race, the American seems cocky.

Sprinting is one of my favourite sports to watch because of the little games and sabre rattling like that. Every one of these athletes has so much swagger which normally isn’t something I appreciate while watching sports but for some reason with sprinters I love it.

Dang, too bad for DeGrasse, lost it right at the end. I know it's not his signature event though. So much speed in these 100m heats!
