2nd set tie-break required - If Canada wins it, they win bronze. If the Dutch win it, we go to a super breaker.

Is cbc arbitrarily changing the medal count format depending on what puts us higher? I swear until now they’ve been ranking by gold. But all of a sudden they’re doing total medal count. It moves us up from 10th to 9th.

I gotta say, I'm pretty stunned FAA is doing as well as he is. Such a heavy schedule, he's gotta be just absolutely exhausted by now. I think he deserves more credit than he's getting in the news, they should be talking about him more, especially if he can somehow snag another bronze in singles.

haha yeah I used to be a total medal guy but I've come around over the years that Gold is the way to go. either way nearly a week in sitting 9th or 10th and ahead of the likes of Germany, Spain, Romania, etc is a far cry from week one of the 2008 Olympics where we were sitting at zero medals

Absolutely, KFF. Amazing effort to make it to the semi-finals in men's singles beating Medvedev and Ruud before running into a red-hot Alcaraz today. He will get a chance to rest and properly recover for the bronze medal match on Saturday already with a medal in his bag to bring home. Let's hope he can make it two!!

Ottawa's finest Gaby Dabrowski was lights out in the bronze medal match. IMO she was carrying the team!

I hope FAA gets some much needed rest for his bronze medal medal on Saturday!

Tennis, BMX, track, swimming about to begin...so much Canadian content all at once! I need more TVs in my living room.

The best ranking I saw was from the Euronews site which grouped countries in the EU under one grouping called "E.U. Countries" and they were first with 11 G, 13 S, 14 B for 38 total. But then they kept all other countries separate.

The official Olympics ranking is to rank in order of golds, but the US also changed recently to ranking by total medals as they typically finish below 1st when it comes to golds, but almost always finish first in total medals.
