I love the decathlon. Top five event for me. Love that we have the former Olympic Champion in Damian Warner AND the current World Champion Pierce LePage. It's a crying shame LePage had to withdraw. Otherwise we could have gone 1-2 on the podium.

I know it's been said before, but 3 vs 3 is awful. Watching the Germany/China game... You could find better quality matches at any local gymnasium.
They're either chucking it from afar, or taking it straight to the basket with piss poor defense. How is this a medal sport? Where is men's soccer? I know the rosters are depleted, but surely it's of higher quality than a bunch of weekend warriors.

Not a great start for Warner today. I guess that is the beauty and the torture of the Decathlon - you still have 8 more chances.

Yeah. BASEketball would be a more deserving medal sport.

it's the 12 second shot clock that makes everything chaotic and not as crisp.

Felix is playing some fine tennis, the problem is he's playing Carlos Alcaraz.
Edit; That last point is a perfect example. Felix hits a fantastic backhand passing shot, Alcaraz turns it into a stab volley winner.

Not much you can do when Charlie is in that kind of zone. Chun up Felix and go get that bronze medal with Gaby in mixed doubles.

Team Canada absolutely sucked at the Team Jumping portion of the Equestrian and didn't make the finals yesterday but I haven't watched today's individual round that went on this morning to see if they did any better or they subbed out Amy Millar for Tiffany Foster (I doubt it but it was on the table)

I will say it is a really nice watching experience. Crowd seems great with none of the yelling nonsense we see on tour frequently, solid leaderboard with lots of talent. Should be fun for the whole weekend.
I know there’s time constraints but I wish golf could find a way to incorporate some kind of mixed team event for the Olympics

Basically is about what you 'usually' get. Two of Warners best events, in relation to the field, are completed. He is about 90 points below his gold medal performance in 2020.
It's not bad, but not the start he wanted.
