Default Day 5 - July 31

E.Coli in the Seine might get in the way but the Women’s Triathalon should start at 00:00. Emy Legault is the Canadian in this event.

Michelle Li competes in Women’s Badminton Singles at 00:30.

At 01:00 Men’s Beach Volleyball starts as well as Norway vs Hungary in Men’s Handball, Poland vs Brazil in Men’s Volleyball, and the qualification for Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions with Calgarian Tye Ikeda competing.

Men’s Singles Badminton starts at 01:20.

At 02:00 the Women’s Beach Volleyball and Equestrian start for the day. There’s also Singles Tabe Tennis, Women’s 70kg Judo, Men’s 90kg Judo, and Argentina vs Spain in Women’s Hockey. At 02:30 there’s South Africa vs Great Britain in Women’s Hockey.

The rescheduled Men’s Triathlon should start at 02:45 with Tyler Mislawchuk and Charles Paquet.

The Women’s 10m Synchro Platform Diving Final starts at 03:00 with Calgarian Caeli McKay and Kate Miller competing. This should be on TSN. Also at 03:00 there’s Puerto Rico vs Spain in Women’s Basketball, and Croatia vs Germany in Men’s Handball.

The Morning swimming starts at 03:00 on CBC with the Women's 200m Breastroke heats, Kelsey Wog and Sydney Pickrem are in Heat 2. The Men’s 200m Backstroke heats start next with Blake Tiernay in Heat 4. Summer McIntosh will be in Heat 4 of the Women’s 200m Butterfly.

The Women’s Lightweight Double Sculls A/B Finals start at 03:34. Jill Moffat and Jennifer Casson are in Semifinal 1.

Tennis starts at 04:00, FAA plays 3rd on Simonne Mathieu against Medvedev from the country that won’t be named. Dabrowski and FAA will be up 5th on the same court in Mixed Doubles. Dabrowski and Fernandez are 2nd on Court 7 in the Women’s Quarterfinal.

Sailing starts at 04:15.

The Quadruple Sculls Rowing finals start at 04:26, Men’s and then Women’s.

At 04:45 France vs Germany in Women’s Hockey. Japan vs Argentina in Men’s Volleyball at 05:00.

The Women’s BMX Park Freestyle Final starts at 05:10, the Men’s Final will be at 06:44.

At 05:30 Canada faces South Korea in the Quarterfinal of the Men’s Team Sabre Fencing.

At 06:00 there’s Spain vs Japan in Men’s Handball and Netherlands vs Australia in Women’s Water Polo.

Canada’s Brian Yang has a Badminton match at 06:50.

The Semifinal of the Women’s C1 Slalom starts at 07:30. Also at this time there’s the Final in Women’s Trap Shooting.

Canada faces China in Women’s Water Polo at 07:35 and I believe this will be on CBC.

At 08:00 there’s Slovenia vs Sweden in Men’s Handball.

Medal matches in the Judo should start at 08:48.

09:00 has Japan vs Nigeria and Brazil vs Spain in Women’s Soccer, Belgium vs Japan in Women’s Hockey, and USA vs Serbia in Women’s Volleyball.

At 09:06 Tammara Thibeault fights in the round of 16 in Women’s 75kg Boxing. I believe CBC is planning on showing this live.

Puerto Rico plays USA in Men’s Basketball at 09:15.

Women’s C1 Slalom Final is at 09:25.

At 09:30 the Men’s Individual All Around Gymnastics Final begins and I think CBC will go here around 10:30. Felix Dolci and Rene Cournoyer are the Canadians that have qualified.

09:30 also has Australia vs Germany in 3x3 Women’s Basketball and Germany vs Netherlands in Men’s Hockey.

At 10:00 Canada faces China in Women’s 3x3 Basketball and this should be shown live on CBC.

Also at 10:30 is Italy vs USA in Women’s Water Polo and Latvia vs Netherlands in Men’s 3x3 Basketball.

11:00 has Australia vs USA and Zambia vs Germany in Women’s Soccer as well as France vs Egypt in Men’s Handball. Serbia plays China in Men’s 3x3 Basketball at 11:05.

Daniel Dearing and Samuel Schachter compete at 12:00 in Men’s Beach Volleyball.

The evening Swimming starts at 12:30 and I’m not certain how CBC is going to show this with the soccer starting 30 minutes later. The Women’s 100m Freestyle Final is first followed by Ilya Kahrun in the Men’s 200m Butterfly Final. There’s also the Women’s 200m Butterfly Semifinal, Women’s 1500m Freestyle Final, the Men’s 200m Backstroke Semifinal, Women’s 200m Breaststroke Semifinal, Men’s 200m Breaststroke Final, and the Men’s 100m Freestyle Final.

At 13:00 Canada faces Colombia in a must win match in Women’s Soccer. This should be live on CBC.

Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson (1-0) compete in Women’s Beach Volleyball at 13:00 against a team from Switzerland (1-0). I think this will be on SN1.

Also at 13:00 is USA vs South Sudan in Men’s Basketball, France vs Spain in Women’s 3x3 Basketball, Denmark vs Argentina in Men’s Handball, and Poland vs Kenya in Women’s Volleyball.

At 13:30 USA plays Azerbaijan in Women’s 3x3 Basketball. On the Men’s side there’s Lithuania vs France at 14:05 and USA vs Poland at 14:35.

The Surfing Finals were postponed and should happen at some point today.

The #1 Chinese table tennis player just lost early in one of the biggest upsets ever. He won the mixed doubles yesterday and in the ensuing media scrum a photographer broken his paddle.

Nice win for sure. Looks like he has either Casper Ruud (NOR) or Francisco Cerundolo (ARG) in the quarter-final and then would likely run into Alcaraz in the semi-final.

So we have the swimming on TSN, Canadians in Beach Volleyball on Sportsnet and I’m guessing CBC will show some swimming until 13:00 when they switch over to the soccer

Canada and the States going to a tie-break to decide the opening set in mixed doubles. A late exchange of breaks.
