Default Day 3 - July 29

The day starts at 0:30 with Men’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Women’s Singles Badminton.

Men’s Beach Volleyball and Women’s Individual Sabre Fencing start at 01:00, Canada’s Pamela Brind’amour has a match at 03:40. At 01:25 the Men’s Individual Foil begins with Blake Broszus competing for Canada, Daniel Gu of Edmonton goes at 01:55, Maximilien Van Haaster begins at 04:35.

At 01:30 the Men’s Recurve Team Archery begins as well as the Men’s Trap Shooting and the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Final.

02:00 has Men’s and Women’s Singles Table Tennis, Ireland vs Australia in Men’s Hockey, Women’s 57kg Judo, and Men’s 73 kg Judo. Arthur Margelidon tries to improve on his 5th place finish in Tokyo in the 73kg Judo.

At 02:30 there’s Japan vs China in Women’s Hockey.

Beginning at 03:00 Sophie Bukovec and Heather Bansley (0-1) face a team from China (0-1) in Women’s Beach Volleyball. Also, at 03:00 the Men’s 10m Synchro Platform Dive Final begins, Nathan Zsomber-Murray and Rylan Wiens are the Canadian competitors in this event, they came in 5th in the 2024 World Aquatics Championship. Jill Moffat and Jennifer Casson row in Heat 1 of the Lightweight Double Sculls. Equestrian will also start at 03:00.

The morning swimming starts at 03:00 and should be live on CBC. The Women’s 400m IM heats are first with Ella Jansen making her Olympic debut in Heat 1, Summer McIntosh will be in Heat 2. At 03:13 the Women’s 100m Backstroke heats begin, 2024 World Aquatics Championships Bronze Medalist (and Calgarian) Ingrid Wilm will be in Heat 5. Also in Heat 5 is 2016 Bronze Medalist and 2020 Silver Medalist Kylie Masse. The Men’s 800m Freestyle Heats begin at 03:28.

At 03:12 Christa Deguchi has a match in Women’s 57kg Judo. Deguchi won Gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in this event and has seen a lot of success at the IJF World Championships (2024-Silver, 2023-Gold, 2019-Gold, 2018, Bronze).

At 03:48 Wyatt Sanford fights in Men’s 63.5kg Boxing.

Starting at 04:00 the Women’s Eight Rowing heats begin with Canada in Heat 1. Also at this time is the Men’s Street Skateboarding Prelims that were rescheduled due to rain, Matt Berger, Ryan Decenzo, and Cordano Russell are the Canadian competitors. There’s also the Men’s 10m Air Rifle Final.

Tennis starts at 04:00, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will be up second on Court Philippe-Chartier. For Canadian content the schedule looks like Bianca Andreescu will be up first on Court 6 for her 2nd round singles match. Leylah Fernandez will be up first on Court 7 for her 2nd round singles match. FAA and Raonic will be 5th on Court 14 for their Men’s Doubles 1st round match.

Men’s and Women’s 49er Sailing begin for the day at 04:05 and 04:15, Following that will be the Men’s and Women’s iQFOiL.

India faces Argentina at 04:45 in Men’s Hockey. At 05:00 Brazil faces Kenya in Women’s Volleyball. Spain faces USA in Women’s Hockey at 05:15. Germany faces Belgium in Women’s Basketball at 05:30 and 06:00 has Egypt vs Denmark in Men’s Handball.

Starting at 06:00 the Women’s Rugby Sevens begins with Great Britain vs South Africa with new games beginning every 60 minutes.

The Men’s Cross Country Mountain Biking event starts at 06:10. 2023 Pan Am Games Gold Medalist Gunnar Holmgren is the Canadian competitor.

Beginning at 07:00 Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes begin their Women’s Beach Volleyball tournament against a team from Paraguay, this should be on CBC and TSN.

Starting at 07:30 is the Men’s C1 Canoe Slalom Semifinals. Alex Baldoni is the Canadian in this event. The Final begins at 09:20.

At 07:35 there is USA vs Spain in Women’s Water Polo, Sweden vs Spain at 08:00 in Men’s Handball.

At 08:00 Canada faces China in Women’s Rugby and this should be on CBC.

The Men’s Skateboarding Street Final starts at 09:00. There’s also the Great Britain vs Australia in Women’s Hockey, USA vs China in Women’s Volleyball, and the Women’s 57kg Gold Medal Match.

At 09:15 Canada takes on France in Women’s Basketball, this should be shown live on CBC.

Starting at 09:30 the Men’s Team Artistic Gymnastics Final will begin with Canada as a finalist. Also at this time there is South Africa vs Argentina in Women’s Hockey.

At 10:30 there’s China vs Netherlands in Women’s Water Polo. France vs Norway in Handball starts at 11:00.

Michelle Li has a match at 11:30 in Women’s Badminton.

Canada faces Hungary in Women’s Water Polo at 12:05, I think this will be on Sportsnet.

At 12:15 there’s France vs Belgium in Women’s Hockey.

At 12:20 Adam Dong and Nyl Yakura (0-2) face a team from Great Britain (0-2) in Men’s Badminton.

The Women’s Individual Sabre Fencing Bronze bout is at 12:50. The Gold Medal will be decided at 13:45.

The evening swimming starts at 12:30 with the Women’s 400m IM Final. At 12:40 the Men’s 200m Freestyle will begin. The Women’s 100m Backstroke Semifinals will begin at 12:57. At 13:19 the Men’s 100m Backstroke Final begins. The Women’s 100m Breaststroke Final starts at 13:25. Mary-Sophie Harvey swims in the Women’s 200m Freestyle Final at 13:41. All these swimming events should be on CBC.

At 13:00 there is Argentina vs Hungary in Men’s Handball, USA vs Japan in Women’s Basketball, and France vs Serbia in Women’s Volleyball.

The Men’s Individual Foil Bronze will be at 13:15, Gold at 14:10.

The Quarterfinals of the Women’s Rugby will be at 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, and 14:30.

Women’s Shortboard Surfing Round 3 is at 15:48.

I dont know a thing about synchronized diving, but as a layman just watching, the Chinese are insanely good and leaps better than anyone else.

Kylie Masse and Ingrid Wilm advanced to the Women’s 100m Backstroke Semifinals.

Summer McInstosh will be in the 400m IM Final at 12:30

Christa Deguchi will be in the Women’s 57kg Judo semifinal. Starts at 08:12 with the other match and Deguchi will be up right after.

Drives me crazy that Canada doesn't do better in the Canoe events - should be our birthright. Just like how the US should dominate in the shooting events.

Ukraine surprises just behind China in second, while the US rounds out the top 3.

They were going on forever seemed the only outcome possible was a 3rd yellow card for the Korean
