On the flip side the wife and I re watched Band of Brothers while finishing this show, just holy hell the side by side comparison did not do this one any favours.

Mistakes were made.

That being said the ending quote from Winters in BoB just absolutely shreds you to the bone every. damn. time.

I did the same and will always rate the last episode so highly. the war is over (in Europe) and alot of these guys are contemplating what they are going to do now. Peace seems so alien to them.

Such an amazing conclusion to the show and the effect the war had on otherwise normal men.

No flag hugging in sight

Didn't even bother finishing Masters of Air. This show was a mess, really. A show about the RAF during the Battle of Britain could have been much better, and maybe allowed for some better time with characters. However, maybe for a WW2 show, that timeline isn't satisfying enough. People want more Nazi butt kicking and not so much just defense against the Nazis.

I am also people, I want more Nazi butt kicking.

Another issue with this series is the writers took far too many liberties with facts in order to make "better" TV. Westgate's character was a complete fabrication, the real family (Wingate) refused to let them use her real name because none of what they showed was true, other than hooking up with Crosby. Egan wasn't involved at all with the Russelsheim massacre. Rosie was rescued by the Russians but it wasn't in the middle of a battle. But the worst and most eye rolling change was the "battle" at the POW camp in the finale. There was no battle, the camp was handed over to the Americans without conflict because of course it was, the Germans knew the war was over. And Egan never raised and hugged an American flag, but I guess they had to shoehorn that in for the 'merica crowd

Band of Brothers had a few notable errors (Blithe's death being the most egregious), but they were the fault of Stephan Ambrose who wrote the book. The show runners never changed anything simply to try to add more drama. WWII was full of amazing true stories, there's no need to make #### up to have a good show
