wranglers [GDT] Flames vs Barons - Friday Jan 9 @ 5:00pm (MST)

Adirondack Flames (22-14-1-1) vs Oklahoma City Barons (Edmonton Oilers) (23-8-2-2)

#5 - Tyler Wotherspoon

Wotherspoon, a stay at home defenceman from Surrey, BC, was drafted by the Flames in 2011 with their 2nd pick (57th overall). Before turning pro in 2013-14 with the Abbotsford Heat, Wotherspoon spent 5 seasons with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL where he played in 3 consecutive WHL Championship Finals series before finally winning a WHL Championship in 2013 beating the Edmonton Oil Kings. His team went on to the Memorial Cup that year where he posted 3 points (1G, 2A) in 5 games ultimately losing the Championship game to the Halifax Mooseheads. During that same season, Wotherspoon was named to Team Canada for the 2013 World Junior Championships where they placed 4th. On March 7, 2014 he made his NHL debut and played 14 games with the Flames before suffering a shoulder injury that required surgery. He was rewarded for his play during the call up and season at the 2014 Prospect Camp where he was given an NHL number. Tyler isn't the only Wotherspoon in his family to play defence. His younger brother Parker is a defenceman with the Tri-City Americans and is draft eligible in 2015. Prior to joining the Winterhawks, Wotherspoon was active in both hockey and baseball at a competitive level.

In addition to wanting the Baby Flames to beat down on the Baby Oilers for obvious reasons, I would also like to see a thrashing for this:

Poor Horak. He wasn't THAT bad where he deserved this and all the no goodness that came with it.

Arnold took a huge hit and looks like he's a bit out of it.

Arnold going to the locker room now.

Great Knight gets announced as traded and Arnold goes down. The timing...

We are 4 on 4 as Stevenson and Pinizotto go off for roughing.

Yes. The Panthers didn't sign him and so they traded his rights to Calgary and we signed him. Now he goes back. We gave up a 4th rounder in 2013 for him.
