To be fair the series is well known for the amount of gratuitous nudity. Maybe it didn't need to go into the direction it went the last batch of posts but I don't think you can take nudity completely out of this discussion.

Yes I realize nudity is part of the show and I'm not a prude, but some of the comments were just unnecessary.

I mean we remember the comments from the earlier seasons right? I actually think for a lot of us we mock the over the top gratuitous nature of the nudity. Often in the earlier seasons it felt like they were looking for excuses to do it, like they needed to give us some token nudity because it's HBO. The amount of nudity in season 7 compared to seasons 1 and 2 is a startling difference.

The nudity was becoming a running joke about the show, plus the climate of Westeros changes significantly over the show, it started the series a relatively peaceful, happy kingdom enjoying the abundance of a prolonged summer, to the frozen, fractured, war-torn hell-hole we know now. It's a lot harder to get laid in the latter and only lends itself to the brutal rapes that are largely left off camera. All in all, there's a lot of good reasons there's less boobies on the show.
