Agreed about the over-rating of the Habs.

-Anderson has the potential to be a major bust.
-Fans here are convinced that Suzuki/Kotkaniemi are 1/2 line centres this year. Suzuki still has potential to be a 1/2, but Kotkaniemi is (IMO) going to achieve at a similar level to Bennett and hardly move the meter.
-The loss of Domi is more significant that fans assume
-Edmonston is a replacement bottom pairing D

I think Vancouver slides.

They had pretty terrible metrics in the regular season and playoffs, but were bailed out by goaltending.

Even if they didn't lose Markstrom I think it would have been fortunate to get the same result. Demko looked all world in the playoffs in a short stint for sure, but he didn't have the same results in the regular season with a larger sample size.

They are going to need Elias, Boeser and some others to find another level just to tread water. I have the most faith in Elias in doing that, but that may not be enough.

On topic, if you look really closely at those pictures, you can see McAvi posing in every single photo. He is dressed in his all star game best of sweatpants and sweat jacket with good shoes. The problem is that the grey camouflages with the rest of the colour scheme.

People live here because of work and a deluded thought that it is nice due to the river valley, and while that is nice, it is filled with hobos in the summer and frozen in the winter. So imagine making millions of dollars and being forced to live in the illegal basement suite version of a NHL city.

Is their lineup this year better than last year's?

Goalies - worse due to aging
D - replaced Klefblom with Barrie, neutral at best or slightly worse
F - added more depth

To me they are slightly better, but hopefully the fact that they are no good will overpower any additional depth
