looking forward to that Horizon Forbidden West DLC. Frozen Wilds was really good, so hoping this will be similar.

Looks like we get Kevin Conroy as Batman one last time.

Anyone know what happened to the previous video game thread?

To the above I'll add the Jedi Survivor trailer, which I think looks really excellent.

And Hades II, definitely pumped for this one as the first is brilliant. Wasn't expecting a sequel since Supergiant Games hasn't done a sequel yet, very excited!

I was kind of let down by Forbidden West and have no desire to play the DLC. I really liked the first game but this one just didn't click for me. It wasn't bad but didn't grab me as I finished it out of obligation. Kind of like some of the Far Cry games. I think I may have liked it better if it wasn't launched so close to Elden Ring that is just so good that a game like Horizon seems kind of unremarkable by comparison.

I still haven't played it. Too many other things. I have been playing a decent amount of Hades lately, weirdly I never really got that into it previously, not being a big fan of the genre, but it managed to sink its hooks in a couple of weeks ago and I get why people find it so addictive. So I'll definitely grab the sequel.

Yeah Hades is the opposite of my style of game but it was so good I had to play it. The setting where it makes it just a little easier when you die was perfect for me, let me play the game and have my skill level increase and the game come down to meet at what I could do. I probably wouldn't have gone nearly as far without that, and if I just had a god mode I wouldn't have played it for as long as I did either.

Celeste was the previous game that is not in my usual wheelhouse but was so good I had to play it.

Looking for a Switch recommendation for my 8 year old. We play Mario Kart together, and other titles he has liked include Mario Maker 2, Riverbond, Minecraft, the various Mario games, among some others I can’t remember. I think he’s a bit young for Zelda Breath of the Wild, although I have that one already anyways. Thoughts?

Kirby and the Forgotten Land was a pretty fun one this year.

just saw the Game Awards results. With Ragnarök and Elden Ring in the mix, it's not surprising that games like A Plague Tale: Requiem were left empty-handed, but that this game didn't even win Best Soundtrack still makes me sad. That soundtrack was a god-damn masterpiece.

Seems like slim pickings for games right now.

Is there a better option for a CoD game to try the series out, or is it more a matter of a preferred setting/time/backdrop?

Honestly I'd rather play a game based on that than a CoD game.
