Default Saddledome is going cashless

Quote:
New for 2021, Scotiabank Saddledome will be a cashless venue. All concession stands, retail locations and 50/50 ticket sellers inside Scotiabank Saddledome will be moving to cashless transactions, with contactless terminals that will allow debit, credit, Apple Pay, Google Pay and gift cards as methods of payment.

Oh good. Because it wasn’t painfully slow enough to get a beer.

I like the idea of doing a quick tap to pay but not sure how this will affect worker tips in that case?
I wonder if they start adding a mandatory tip?
If they don't do tap and people have to go through the whole "pin #", "amount ok", "select tip amount", "select account", "ok" every single time it could be ridiculous.

I imagine it will be the same as McMahon. Each till has a touch screen station that shows your purchase and a tip option. Then you tap or use your Apple Pay.

If anything this should speed up the lines. Tap and go instead of the employee and customer fumbling around with change?

Am hoping you can just put Saddledome credit on your phone and do a quick scan. I love tap-based POS systems but sometimes it fails on people for various reasons. Having a pre-loaded credit - and something you can buy with on your own phone while the game is between intermissions - seems to make sense, especially if you are there regularly and want to avoid long lines.

They were back at Mcmahon last home game.

Had those wireless Apple terminals with them for payment.

I wonder how it will affect their taxes now as all tips are recorded electronically.

Crap.

So now my wife is going to be able to find out exactly how much I spend on beer and pocket dawgs.

I had a beer vendor in my section (R) on Labour Day. He had a tap machine to use.

Because it was never slow behind Uncle Joe fumbling for bills and counting out his change.

Just another stupid move on behalf of CSEC. Since when has cash become unacceptable? If the majority of people use touchless payment anyways, how do a few hundred people who prefer cash inconvenience the rest? Instead of limiting and restricting people, shouldn't they be expanding things so that there are options that suit everyone? Especially coming back from Covid where every dollar helps. Believe it or not, but there are older people who don't use cell phones or have credit cards. You have effectively blocked them out. I rarely use cash as I collect travel points on my VISA, but I think this is a dumb move. I don't buy the whole "covid" thing either as there are still hundreds of touch points all over the arena.

So true. I tried complaining about the cost of hair, nails etc. for the three girls in my life and was quickly assured that my golf course tabs make those costs seem trivial. Rookie mistake.

On the cashless and tips, I simply ask the person running the machine to add the tip so I don't have to touch the machine. Having to touch it defeats the purpose of touch less.

I prefer spending cash for my recreation expenses as it helps me very easily budget what I spend on leisure. This is a inconvenience too me.
