It's not like the current core has lost to slouches in the first round either. Avs, Ducks when they were a contender, and Dallas who went to the finals.

04 run obviously gives the old core the edge but I think people remember them a little better than they were. Thank god Vancouver didn't win game 7 or have Bert.

Current core we apparently hate was second overall the last 82 game season.

I swear this always happens, just like when we ran into young up and coming Colorado, but I guess you need to make the playoffs every year to get some better matchups.

Im guessing offers were made on presumably Gaudreau, Monahan and Tkachuk and they were low offers knowing that the Flames wanted to make changes. I think Gaudreau would stay if the money is good enough but I think Tkachuk wants to go to free agency unless they pay him an obscene amount and it seems like his brother is trying to play the same game in Ottawa.
