The only way I can see that being the case is if Gaudreau only wants to sign if the Flames do well. If the Flames tank this season, Gaudreau and Tkachuk actually want out and Treliving is on the hot seat and gets canned, then they may actually rebuild.

Treliving has shown in the past to be a good negotiator with his players but if he fails to get Gaudreau signed I suspect it'll be the last nail in his coffin.

The fans will be very loud and likely walk away from season tickets

The Flames need to distance themselves from this guy as much as possible. Don't take his questions at interviews, don't give him anything. He is just a toxic asshat.
