Default Converting PAL DVDs to NTSC system help request

I have some European zone children's DVDs I'd like to somehow convert to North American formatting for easy watching on a PS4 or direct to smart TV.

I can watch the DVDs on my desktop no problem, but in a perfect world, I'd like to just have the DVDs copied onto the PS4 hard drive for ease of use. Flash drive also OK.

I don't have any blank DVDs, so a straight up copy is a non starter.

I'm asking for the best/easiest way of doing this. I tried the VLC player copying tool but I am a little confused on how to get it into a working format.

Any advice appreciated!

Try Handbrake.

Get a player that accepts all regions way way easier. It is possible to do a non lossy conversion see here

Do you want? I bought a pack as a part of a favour to another CP'er. Could mail you a couple if you want.

Handbrake is the easiest way. I usually just throw the DVD in my laptop and hdmi it to the tv and use the vlc player

Great info thanks guys. I'll give Handbrake a try.

I'd rather not use disks since my kids are really small. I'd prefer to have a flash drive or just have it right on the drive of the PS4.

Looks like Handbrake worked. It took some fiddling and googling, but I got it.

I seem to remember they was a way to drag and drop movies/songs/pictures directly onto the PS3 hard drive. Is it possible with PS4? So far looks like no and the the flash drive will need to remain insert indefinitely for this plan to work.
