Default Best Place to get a Cake made....

My wife is turning 30, and is expecting. Needless to say she has a pregnant lady hard on for all things red velvet right now. Where is the best place to get a good red velvet cake made? The only place I have tried is Buttercream Bake Shop so Im looking for other suggestions.

I'd recommend Whippt....really good quality cake, done by the pastry chef at Sirocco Golf Course.

Perhaps an order from Crave Cupcakes? I think they do custom cakes...

Remember to call back and cancel after they have already made your custom cake and then go pick one off the shelf at Safeway.

The tiramisu at the downtown Sunterra is quite good.

If you are having a party for her, do yourself a favor and don't by the mix at a liquor store, it is very expensive there

I'd second Edelweiss. They do awesome cakes.

Glamorgan Bakery also has really good cakes.

Wherever you go, just insist that you pay upon pickup.

Decadent Desserts on 10th Ave SW (across from MEC). Best cakes in town, and plenty o' chocolate laden options for the Mrs.

I have to second this. The cake weighs about 15 pounds of chocolate diabetes inducing goodnes. Seriously can only eat half a piece or I go into a coma.

Plus you can get a delish lunch at Holy Grill when you pick it up. All Win.

I find Buttercream Bakery's cake to be a little dense. It's the same batter mix as their cupcakes, so if you like light and fluffy cakes, this place is not for you.

With that being said, I have ordered from Buttercream for a few birthday's for the girlfriend, and the designs came out amazing.
