I'm actually genuinely curious how many milestones the Flames have been able to give out the past couple years. Every team's fans complain about it but it seems to happen to us so often.

We give out a lot of first career goals. Gave Weise his first hat trick I think earlier this year. I think we have given Ovechkin the point that moved him into the scoring lead in Capitals history last year. At least we didn't give him the goal to move him past Fedorov. Dallas gave Connor McDavid his first NHL goal.

I'd also be curious to see who gives out the most milestones to Flames players.

Beat the Stars 2 weeks ago (to start our current win streak) and we've got some serious momentum going, yeah the Stars are first in the league but I don't see why we can't beat them again tonight.

I'd be surprised. I'd guess most fans only watch their own teams, and announcers always make a note of milestones, slumps, streaks, etc. Plus you probably don't make a note of every time a milestone is NOT reached, or a slump continues, or a streak ends against us.

There's a name for this effect but it's escaping me at the moment. It's not quite confirmation bias but it's similar.

Believe Hartley is playing mind games. Puts out a fictitious line then once he sees what the Stars answer with will have them change as soon as possible to what he wants matched out there.

He has done it a couple times before.
