Mu from the USA was just cruising to win the 800m heat. Terrific form.

That false start rule is just brutal, just no room for error

Great come from behind for Hodgkinson from the UK to win her 800m heat. She was in 6th place coming around the final turn!

This laser show on the track for the intros to the Women’s 100m final is cool

The mixed 4X400m relay was exciting. Poland with the gold medal, the Dominicans get the silver, nice comeback by their anchor, and the USA gets the bronze.

I watched the Jamaican men sweep the podium in the 200m on tv while at Jamaica House set up at the O2 in London during the 2012 Olympics. One of the most fun nights I can remember, the bar ran out of every type of rum imaginable that night.

New Olympic record, only the second fastest time ever.

That Olympic record was from 1988

Surprised that no one mentioned how Novak Djokovic once again proved he's a P.O.S.

Be interesting to see how he reacts as he ages and his dominance fades

what a morning (evening??) on the track! DeGrasse doing Degrasse things, bringing it on the main stage- the false starts are a nuisance but probably plays ok for him as he doesn't rely on his start- will only get tougher from her though

the Women's final- oh my. worth the 'price of admission', Thompson was fantastic all through the rounds , as they all were- how about the Swiss with 2 finalists?

add in the 800s and the ultrafun mixed 4x4. just great stuff

And also, Djokovic left his doubles partner high and dry pulling out of the mixed doubles bronze medal match. It could have been her greatest moment. It's only two sets and a super tiebreak, wouldn't have killed him. If anything, he should have played the doubles and withdrawn from the singles.

I think most people assume that Flo Jo's 10.49 was suped up. That is why Herah's time should be the de facto World Record

This is actually what I was referring to.

Whatever throw a tantrum all you want, I don’t care.

But to leave your partner high and dry and make them have to forfeit a medal chance is ridiculous.

Maybe that’s why sports like tennis either shouldn’t be in the olympics or you invite different athletes. Of course they didn’t have to pick him for doubles either.
