Seems that each year (4 years), the sports get more and more 'out there'

Watching yesterday (or the day before, who can tell one day from the next), and skateboarding is on. I decided that I didn't really want to watch 13 year olds be awarded Olympic medals for skateboarding, so I flip to the other channel. And there I find surfing. I'm like 'what,? Surfing is in the Olympics now?' So I start watching that until I realized that I had been watching for more than 10 minutes and all I saw was waves rolling in - not a single attempt to get on their boards and actually do something.

So I reluctantly turned it back to one of the old, tired sports like field hockey or something.

The Olympics are awesome, but sometimes they are... well, bizarre.

There are trying to reach a new demographic, like in the winter games, x cross and slopestyle. It's not for geezers like us.

Is there much of a surf around Japan? Anything like Hawaii?

Tsurigasaki Beach is located in Ichinomiya town on Chiba Prefecture's Pacific coastline.

The contest site is approximately 100kms from Tokyo and takes about 1.5 hours by car to get there. The closest train station is Kazusa-Ichinomiya Station (JR Sotobo Line, Wakashio Line). The beach has hosted a QS contest for many years and is now a bustling surfers paradise with shops, restaurants, and of course waves. Tsurigasaki works best on NE to SE swells from the Pacific Ocean. There will be a shuttle bus service from Joso Ichinomiya Station on the JR Sotobo Line.

Soon they'll try going the other direction and add Pickleball. Dion won't be able to get enough.

A side story. Crispin Duenas advanced to the Round of 16 in men's archery. The 16th seed was to face #1 Kim Jo Deok, the Korean already has two gold this olympics, mixed and team. But he was upset yesterday by the #33 from Germany! The Korean never lose in archery.

https://www.indiatoday.in/sports/tok...186-2021-07-27

Duenas's Round of 16 match goes on Saturday. The door is open.

Any way to watch Canada-centric Olympic coverage outside of Canada?

Fantastic personal moment for Bailey, spine tingling call by Wittman, I still enjoyed what happened a week later even more- and that is saying something.

I'll never get tired of watching either of these Saturday night races from Atlanta

25 years . eesh.
