Even if I'm doing IF, I still often go to "breakfast foods" for my lunch as my first meal anyway.

I love eggs & egg whites too much and like the commercials say, eggs for lunch or dinner isn't weird, you're weird.

My other go to is a bowl of kashi, scoop of whey, powdered peanut butter, flaked almonds & almond milk. Sometimes berries or banana on top.

PB toast 90% of the time. I rarely eat lunch however sometimes it could be once or twice a month. I will have leftovers for breakfast on occasion because I hate wasting food. My skipping lunch usually mitigates any of those extra calories . Many times that I have had lunch I skip supper as I’m to full.

I usually only do big breakfasts on the weekends, bacon or sausages, eggs, hashbrowns and toast or waffles. There’s also a lot of fat in bacon, probably one of the worst foods for it but it tastes good.

But during the week my go to breakfast is instant oatmeal with a scoop of peanut butter stirred in and some yogourt, coconut usually or fruit instead of peanut butter. That really fills me up and can easily carry me over until noon without getting hungry.

Also coffee and orange juice.

Sometimes I’ll have cold cereal or two pieces of toast with either margarine or peanut butter with jam or just cheese whiz if I have it available the few times I do buy it. But mostly it’s hot cereal.

Once a week it’s Mcdonalds for a sausage McMuffin, muffin and coffee or smoothie as a treat.

I also don't agree with the saying "breakfast is the most important meal of the day"

I rarely eat breakfast. I get up. Have a coffee. Work a couple hours. Go do my work out. Work a bit more and then have lunch as my first meal of the day.

I feel like the Seinfeld version of Steinbrenner: I've been having PB&J toast as my school/workday commute breakfast since probably 2006. Mostly because I can eat it in the car since my nighthawk butt doesn't get up early enough to leave a lot of time to get ready in the mornings.

I like breakfast and coffee. I usually make a little breakfast sandwich with avocado, egg and a slice of ham. That's what I have 80% of the time. We do crepes about twice a month, we sometimes have the Smoked Bacon Hash from the Costco freezer, with some poached eggs and cheese curds on top...

I really like some of the suggestions here for oat and fruit-based breakfasts though. That would probably be a lot healthier than what I do most days. I might start implementing that into my regular routine. I love berries and honey!

I spent most of life thinking "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" and was really liberated when I learnt that breakfast isn't necessary at all. It's not needed for energy, as one has a full night's rest fueling them. What really counts is the calories, nutrients, etc. consumed in a day and there also seems to be a benefit to consuming them in as short of a time frame as possible. So there is good reason not to eat breakfast at all. My favourite time to workout is first thing in the morning on an empty belly.

I was also interested to learn that black coffee/tea has no calories and do not break your morning fast (it takes ~50 calories to break a fast), but they will end "gut rest", where your guts start up but you're still fasting.

30g of carbs is surprisingly low.. only 2g of fibre though. And I usually request no cheese I can't stand their cheese.

I bake bagels.
So fried ham, eggs, pepper jack or similar cheese on bagel
Delicious and less than 5 minutes to prepare in morning.

I think it really depends on what kind of job you have, and your lifestyle. If you are a super active person who has a physical job plus exercises consistently, you have to fuel your body multiple times per day. So a light break, big lunch, light supper (3 meals), can work for you.

But most people are fairly sedentary, and constantly eating and having elevated insulin levels is literally killing us.

Time restricted eating without calorie counting = less calories eaten + more satiety. If I consistently skip breakfast, and don't eat till noon, and quit eating at 6 PM, so 16-18 hour fast each day, after a few weeks I notice I feel better overall and have almost zero cravings after supper. I really think it would do the trick for most people if they want to find a way to loose weight.

The thing about skipping breakfast is I’d wager most people who do it snack in the evenings on less healthy food than they’d typically eat in the morning. I’m not sure it’s the size of meals that the cause a lot of weight gain so much as the equivalent of a whole meal of chips, pop, nachos, popcorn, cookies, etc eaten in front of the TV at night.

Lately? Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, some fresh or frozen berries.

I prefer eggs (scrambles, omelet) and toast, but it's so much work in the morning (it really isn't, but feels like it)
