I always got the impression the team has had influence on who rights holders hire for positions like play-by-play and colour analyst. Would explain why they’re rarely critical of the team.

From what I hear, there's going to be a massive media presence at the first homestand ... I think it'll be quite the event.
I'm expecting a sold-out venue. Not sure how that'll hold up throughout the season, but the atmosphere should be really cool in October.

Doesn't it only hold 5,000 people? If they can't sell that out for the home opener wouldn't that be a major disaster?

Well yeah. They averaged around 14k per in Glendale the last non-COVID year so I'm expecting it to be full most nights. STH sales are going reasonably well, last I saw. But single-game tickets and pricing aren't available yet.

I think it's going to be awesome. If you're a hockey fan and you can watch the NHL in a small building it seems like it would be so cool. Way better than ~80,000 in an outdoor rink at a football stadium, but that's just my opinion.

It will be interesting to see if the nurse contract works out - I can’t see it - but who knows.
I’d say the oilers hit home runs with McDonald’s and dr. Drai in terms of locking them up to long contracts and then having both of them play up to the contracts
