Yup the big sources aren't confirming it. It also screams of NYI people wanting to be right because their team is boring and just treading water of late, so they're hyping this up as much as possible.
Also GMs guessing where a guy will end up doesn't mean that's what's happening. They're just making educated guesses based on hearsay.
No doubts the two camps have had serious discussions but again NYI can't outright make this signing, they have to move things around and it's yet to be seen if they can make it happen.
I'm sure that if there was a simple solution to free up the money they'd have done it.
NYI did the same thing last season didn't they? Released a bunch of signings right before camp.

Friedman and Seravalli both denied that Kadri to NYI was a done deal when they last spoke though.
Pat said today that he believes there is solid Lucic interest around the league and some feelers have been put out there. Doesn't know about the Boston rumours specifically. Doesn't think adding a sweetener is necessary.
Also said he talked to a couple of people yesterday and got the impression that Kadri is keeping a few teams warm, in case the Avalanche can't sign him. Seemed skeptical of the Kadri to NYI talk since Seravalli, Friedman, and Lebrun haven't said anything.

Just a lonely oiler fan hoping we don't piss more on their Calgary getting significantly worse fantasy by having a shot at Kadri after the huge recovery with Tkachuk.
Even the No Good blogger on 960 today was pumping NYI hard. They're afraid.
Ottawa adding Debrincat, Giroux, Chychrun, while dumping Murray would be a hell of a summer. Talbot is pretty average so not the best pickup but not a long term move. Really tough division to make the playoffs but if their young guys take a big step they could be one of the most improved teams this year
I bet they get one little run out of this like VAN did and then will follow them into purgatory as a capped out team built around players with too many flaws.

I don't have a strong opinion on the Kadri thing, but I think the legit insiders are all taking holidays and not chasing this one very hard at all...but I don't use the twitter so I'm not sure if/when they have made their comments

Nah.
Ottawa already has a legit group of very young forwards plus all sorts of great players in the pipeline.

Yup I can confirm this as well, since I know one of them. Been trying to get Kadri info from him but doesn’t sound like there is much to share yet
Well that can go either way. "Hey Nazem, it's your cousin, I heard you signed here with a big paycheck, I was thinking you could help me with my business"
Let's just hope he enjoys his Calgary family.

Craig Smith would make sense for Calgary. RW has always had good possession numbers, good skater. Fits a top 9 role. If the Bruins/Lucic rumours had any merit, it makes sense for Calgary to look at getting Smith in return.

Great summer for them already. I'd argue that Talbot is above average however. Maybe just above average, but he has had a pretty strong consistent save percentage ranging from .911 to .919 in the last three years.

Beauvillier is another winger I wouldn’t mind the Flames going after. Just can’t do the trade without sending cap back and the article states that Lou wants it to be a pure cap dump.
How does Jack Johnson get contracts each year when Michael Stone just waits at home for Tre to call him.
I think that Jack is a decent 7th D option but also, I think hockey is a very close-knit community, for better or worse, and people feel sorry for Jack because of how badly his parents ####ed him over.
