It's not a fair trade at all. A sheltered D in his late 20's that's never proven he can be anything else is not a good return at all.

I don’t think Ekholm is better than Rielly and I never said that. I never said that Rielly doesn’t play brutal minutes. Your straw men are the joke here.
Using QOC to compare these two players is a useless exercise. It’s two completely different situations. That’s all I’m saying.

I was responding to the idea Ekholm is better right now. Not even close.
If Ekholm is being defensively than Rielly let'
s see him prove it and play some real minutes.
1 DMan in the ENTIRE NHL last season played against tougher competition than Rielly. 1. And he had 52 points and missed some games due to injury.
He has 6 points in 3 games this year and again if facing tough competition.

Moving back to the topic, Nylander for Ekholm would be a good and fair deal for both teams for the reasons I mentioned.

It is common practice for Leafs fans to greatly over value their players. We see this time and time again. Everybody does it but Leafs fans are on a whole other level. I mean how could you not be when you’re forced to be spoon fed verbal diarrhea from the Toronto media all of the time?

If non-Leaf fans are saying Ekholm is better than Rielly, maybe it's not Leaf fans overrating someone?
If Ekholm is better than you guys are saying Rielly is not a top 80 NHL DMan. Do you realize this? You are sticking to thsi opinion? You might even say he's not top 100 then.
The Toronto media has picked the Leafs to win nothing. It's a myth the media overrates the Leafs.
