Flames 2004 CBC News report just after Game 7 SCF loss.

Wow, what a trip down memory lane!
All of Canada was behind the Flames that year. From coast to coast.

Ahh yes, the night the whole country saw my disappointment on CBC! I was living in Toronto at the time and had coordinated what grew to become a large number of Flames fans going out to a pub to watch games.

This is actually me with my wife leaning on my shoulder right as the game ended.

It was in, but that also overshadowed the BS missed call on that OT goal in game 6. It was in? Fix was in.

Don't get how anyone can cheer for Tampa. Bastards drink cheetah.

Was right there with you through it all! Definitely had an awesome time cheering the flames on with you guys back then. Seems hard to believe it's almost 20 years now..

So… does this mean I have to cheer for Montreal now?… But I hate them… and their fans are so obnoxious at the Dome…

I've always had the utmost respect for the Habs due to the rivalry that developed in the 80s.

Yeah, Peter Maher is a legend, he's in the Hall of Fame for good reason.

It's a bit sad with what we have to put up with now as both Derek Wills and Rick Ball are just not that good. Ball may be okay if they separated him from Kelly Hrudey.

Man... 2004 playoff run was one of the best few months of my life. I was 19 at the time, not a care in the world... every game was so exciting and so much fun to watch. I remember when we beat Detroit in 6, that's when it really set in: "Hey... we might be able to win this thing!"... I was able to go to game 6 when we eliminated San Jose... what an amazing night that was. Spilling out of the Dome onto 17th ave, cars could barely drive because I think there was something like 50K ppl out there... just high fiving, the ladies taking "shirts off for Kiprusoff".... what a time...

For me it was the little kids in turban head wear holding signs "Honk if you love the Flames". The whole city was so unified, where before it was maybe not as much. Cultural tensions evaporated as we are all fellow fans. Fond memories.

Couldn't even make it through the video, too hard to watch.

Ball is an excellent PBP man, and I prefer him to Cole, who I never liked since a game I heard him call between the Leafs and the Flames. Maher was a good radio guy but I suspect he’d not have made it as a TV PBP guy.

Hrudey isn’t a very technical analyst but he’s good at “here’s what guys think” and in his comic rapport with Ball.

So...this is what we're doing? This is what we're doing today? We're going to feel sad and miserable?

Well....alright then.
