We're at that time of year again folks! The 2013 summer sale is upon us! I will throw out the standard word of caution as someone always seems to get burned... Do not buy a game unless it is a daily deal or a flash sale. You can wait until the last day of the sale to see if a game drops further in price.

Do you figure that Don't Starve will get a deeper discount at some point?

I'd say no. Typically if a game is featured as a daily deal you won't see it go any lower.

Oh... I just looked. A single copy of the game isn't a daily deal (at $11.99), it says that price is available until July 22nd.
The daily deal is $13.49 for two copies of the game.

Vote for Dishonored as the next flashsale - that's a crazy deal.

Apparently, they just updated the storefront and the price has been lowered. Will edit in my main post.

Thanks! They seem to still be working out a few bugs.

I want Far Cry 3 but I also want the Dishonored DLC... They'll each pop up on dailys anyway. Will vote Dishonored just for you lol.

I think I will pick up Bioshock Infinite, Don't Starve, Antichamber, and Endless Space.
All games that I want and were on my wish list.

Bioshock Infinite is my GOTY pick so far. Fantastic game. I am kinda disapointed the season pack isn't on sale but I may grab the pre-order DLC.

Not surprising, but it looks like the Steam servers are melting. Anyone actually bought anything yet? I will be getting Bioshock Infinite when it let's me put it in the cart.
Other games I am hoping to pick are The Walking Dead, Tomb Raider, Spec Ops: The Line and Fallout 3/New Vegas. If there are good enough deals I might get Metro: Last Night, Crysis 1/2, Far Cry 3 and Driver San Francisco.

Also what are the deals with these trading cards and badges? Can you actually get something worth while out of this? Trading cards and badges of themselves are of no interest to me.

It begins! Buy now or be priced out forever!
(These sales were more fun when I my steam library was very bare.)

Apparently they unlock emoticons (for Steam chat) and backgrounds.
This is nowhere near as fun as when the sales came with in-game acheivements that gave you prizes that had some actual value (particularly free games).

I am not in a huge rush. Will buy when I get home from work. I am looking to pick up DLC for Dishonored and I have a pretty damn big wishlist that I hope to knock down.
As for trading cards, I believe the game specific ones can be crafted into coupons or something.

$2.49 for Hotline Miami is a good deal. Fun game, totally worth it. I really like the art direction and music.
