Agreed but Jankowski and Hathaway have also disappeared. That line is just in a funk and now we are back to the first line being leaned on to score all the goals.

What shows you the Oilers can win tomorrow? Are they unbeaten in regulation in the last ten?
Are they on some recent run of good hockey? How did they do last game?
There's two sides to every coin and I think we can all recognize the flames are in a better spot this season than those guys to the north.

I love Tkachuk 5-on-5, and on the PP. He's even been good in the shootout. But I haven't seen much to suggest he's effective during 3-on-3. Unfortunately, Bennett is ice cold again and with Frolik out, there aren't a lot of options...

Progress.
Sure, the team went 0/5 but I'm sure that's unrelated.
I freakin' love watching Doughty screw over his entire team with his descent in Tkachuk-induced madness.
Tkachuk has mineral rights on Doughty's brain.

We get it. You don't like Bennett.

I’m dreading the game tomorrow. I expect McDavid to scare the living daylights outta the entire team as he usually does. We needed the points tonight because tomorrow we give up the game in hand we have on the Kings.

Yup. Win tomorrow and all is right with the universe.
But man, if they lose that one? Yikes. That's not gonna be good for this team's psyche at all, not to mention the folks here on CP. I can only imagine how unbearable this place will be if they don't come out of Edmonton with 2 points.

Janko is having his first real struggle in the league.
It's also showing in the form of Bennett's contributions.

Matchsticks&Gasoline @MatchsticksCGY
Tasty Intermission Tidbit:
Dave Cameron PP numbers as OTT HC
2014-15: 14.6% (29th)
2015-16: 15.8% (28th)
Flames AC
First 27 games of 16-17: 10.7% (30th)
Last 55 games of 16-17: 24.9% (6th)
2017-18: 18.2% (22nd)
The Flames suddenly figured it out last year, other than that
Christian Roatis @CRoatis
You can’t keep Dave Cameron around. You just can’t. The power play isn’t just bad, horrendous or ghastly.
It’s unspeakably vile.

|
Sure.
But the difference is that, as a fan, I was enjoying the effort and hoping for that second goal.
Conversely, you and a few others were whining and waiting for the Kings to score.
That's the difference. And I just don't see the point in the latter.

Hahaha, nowhere did I say I enjoyed tonight's game or the last few.
Flames have been sub par and mediocre is the perfect word for their play lately. But it's just part of the marathon that is 82 games. Ups and downs.

The goal scoring has dried up real quick. Just not enough finish with the amount of chances they’re getting. It’s no longer a coincidence to me that we continue to make these back up goaltenders look great. It’s a trend. Treliving will definitely be developing an itchy trigger finger if 75% of our forwards continue to put up goose eggs night after night.

Tough to be effective 3 on 3 when Backlund is a bad pass & dump in machine 3 on 3. Tkachuk is underused by this coaching staff.

The PP could use a shot like Hoffman’s, Kulak has been playing excellent and is one of my biggest surprises of the season. I prefer him defensively over Brodie and would have no problem
Shipping Brodie out for a Hoffman. Team has defensive depth, it’s tome to trade it for some offense. Tkachuk-Backlund-Hoffman would be fire and then Frolik can go down to the third line and give them some leadership.

What they almost always do in a tie game, play not to lose. It's very obvious at this point, that's the system.

The players dumped the puck so many times this 3 on 3 that you have to assume the coach is telling them to do it.
