Yup, they can spend millions on costumes, actors, CGI dragons, but they couldn't drop a few bucks for a composer to make something new? It's, like, the soul of the show. Probably worth it.
The drops bucks on the same composer for the show, Ramin Djawadi, who I think is one of the best out there. So, it's clearly a creative choice not a cost one. Albeit a weird one. I guess they figured it was their version of the Star Wars: Main Title. (Which admittedly is a whole thing when they do or don't use it for the non skywalker films but that's a chat for another thread)

I'd like to warn anyone, except as a very last resort, to steer clear of AppleTV+ 'Shining Girls'. We are 6 episodes in and am still not entirely sure what is happening. Perhaps this is by design and I am simply too stupid to properly understand. But as I see it, it's a terrible, confusing show with a terrible, confusing plot that is mostly poorly acted.
Stay away if possible
I'm a sucker for a good spy show/movie so I'm enjoying Jack Ryan. Much better than the 2nd season.
My only weird complaint is that its not really a Jack Ryan show. It's more of a show about a dude in the CIA. I always kind of liked the "I'm just an analyst" version of Jack Ryan. Harrison Ford played it best. Smart rising talent in the agency with a tendency for hunches that are usually right, gets in to situations way over his head. He uses his smarts, naivete and cunning to get the job done.
It's far from a unique trope, but I like it.

You'd definitely like The Recruit then.

Can't get enough of Bob so I'm looking forward to this new show on AMC:

In Lucky Hank, Odenkirk plays William Henry Deveraux Jr., the unlikely chairman of the English department in a badly underfunded college in the Pennsylvania Rust Belt. In the teaser, Hank says in voiceover that he “specialize[s] in minor strife and insignificant irritation.”
The series, which stars Odenkirk as a college professor in the midst of a midlife crisis, has also released a brief teaser (watch it below) and rounded out the guest cast for its eight-episode season. Oscar Nuñez (The Office), Tom Bower (Crazy Heart, Raymond & Ray), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley) will all have recurring roles.

So someone actually watches that show? I always wonder who's watching these cable TV shows.
Yeah I mean it's not high-brow super memorable entertainment but it's a decent watch for a weekday evening when we're both tired and don't want to think too much about a show. Can also have it on with the kids around as there's no swearing or nudity or brutal violence, etc.
I've been watching Jack Ryan with Jim from the Office and its really good IMO. Just finished season three.
I think I like the Jack Ryan books better, but this show is well done, Jim does a great job and Greer's character is awesome. Great mix of drama and action.

It's not even cable, broadcast network (ABC). But it's popular enough to have a spin-off; the Rookie Feds with sassy Niecy Nash-Betts as a middle-aged but new FBI agent.
A reboot of Night Court starts next Tuesday. Please 8lb 5oz Baby Jesus don't let it suck, it was one of my favourite comedies back then. And if it's good please don't let it get cancelled early.
