Like Calgary, the goaltending has been a drag on the Oilers this season. They'd be 12th in goals against with Skinner's gaa over a whole season and 24th with Campbell's.
Oilers aren't elite defensively like Calgary, but they aren't a tire fire anymore.
I’d be interested (mildly) to see what these numbers look like before and after they brought in Ekholm.
It only took them a decade+ to figure out you need a decent defenceman. I was talking to Oiler fans last Friday and they were “blown away” how good Ekholm was. I couldn’t help but chuckle. Yeah, it’s a position that exists in the game, the entire league has wondered why your team decided it wasn’t worth addressing for 20 years, and now you have a guy that can actually play it properly. If Edmonton gives Nurse $9mm+ per year, can’t imagine what they think Ekholm would be worth per annum.
Comes off like a kloo klux klan speech/sermon. Or if a Trump hired a rah-rah guy with a drama background to initiate his rallies.
The real cherry on top though is "Teenage Wasteland" as the soundtrack.
Like an ode to all the dozens of once promising teenaged prospects that toiled and wasted away within their organization (and continue to until this day)
Thank the gods I didn't have a hot beverage in hand.
Any person when I was young: "Hey, you know that song Teenage Wasteland?"
Me, offering gentle correction: "No, I do not because it's not called that, it's called Baba O'Reilly. Really, look it up."
Every single person I meet now: "I love that Teenage Wasteland song."
Me now:
It's my guaranteed win question for opponents in any Name That Tune kinda game. Along with Bob Marley's Three Little Birds (which is not Every Little Thing's Gonna Be Alright).

I find the people who feel obliged to correct every one for making an easy mistake when they likely aren't a fan or have ever visually looked at the track listing to be a little more insufferable than the people who were initially mistaken.
The ones who can ease the correction into the conversation as a "fun fact", rather than outright telling people they're wrong condescendingly are the real heroes. Despite having the knowledge, they manage to not lose their people skills because of an inaccuracy, and come out looking more charismatic, instead of a know it all with a short fuse (which no one likes).

Or, instead of whining about being corrected, you could just be wrong less.
